26/10/2010 21:06 | Yes, we will have to wait and see. It's been a dog, but the new shareholder might open a few doors and change things for the better. Either £1 or close to zero in a couple of years, hopefully the former! | topvest
25/10/2010 21:09 | I confirmed direct with the FD earlier this year that the contribution from the JV is now going to be much lower but steadier so there is no big surprise on the upside from Microsoft coming our way. I think trading will be good and I didn't see the Investcorp deal as a dilutive or a negative move. That isn't to say that there isn't every possibility that it will all go wrong again !!!! It got them off the hook with RBS and got on board one of the mots respected tech PE groups in the world so I will give them the benefit of the doubt for a while. But given the fact i didn't get out at £1 3 years ago I will not hang around if it gets to where I would make a profit ... Once bitten. They had a good chick of business from Athens but that was about it .... I would guess since they have said nothing there is not much coming their way from London I do feel the next 12 months will be crucial now | harrogate
25/10/2010 20:34 | Has OSG been awarded any 2012 contracts?...in the past they used to get Olympics contracts.. | diku
25/10/2010 18:46 | Hi again harrogate....and diku. I'm still here.....long term (large) holder.....wary about the effect on the bottom line and eps of the (expensive and equity diluting) funding deal they did earlier this year. Results due in a month (Nov 26?) and if history if anything to go by the unexpected should be expected! On the upside perhaps the JV could turn in a major contribution with the Windows 7 launch? On the downside?..... ummm....who knows? Interesting reading? | bearfoot
25/10/2010 17:08 | I think so...picked up a few more last week and it wasn't that easy to get under 28p. Must be a good chance that the H1 results are going to be good!! Hope so | harrogate
25/10/2010 16:02 | Something going on here!... | diku
12/10/2010 20:14 | OK so only you & me here!...Plus market all buys as well.. | diku
12/10/2010 18:29 | I am not sure if anyone is reading any posts on here!! I would expect H1 to be good based on what they have already said ..volume quite high today so maybe good news to come out soon. November for interims | harrogate
12/10/2010 15:04 | As soon as I posted previously it spiked up...somebody reading my post!...Takeover or contract win?.. | diku
12/10/2010 14:25 | Let's hope so!! | harrogate
12/10/2010 14:14 | Is something going on here?.. | diku
20/9/2010 13:30 | Not sure if this is the latest but it seems PIs do have an interest here... 20/9/2010 13:25 | I wonder if they might do a trading update at the end of Sept..if not we will have to wait until November when the interims come out. I still feel that they will do some corporate action involving the new major shareholder. 40p would get me to profit on thse after 5 years so that would do. | harrogate
20/9/2010 13:20 | Me thinks the board will facilitate a takeover by an American company...they tend to pay a higher premium.. | diku
20/9/2010 12:20 | allquiet here. Last year made eps 3.3 for pe 8. "improved trading has continued into new year" and "significant cost savings" suggests much more to come. bought in at 26p and looking for 40p. | puku
30/7/2010 11:25 | I spoke to the FD who I met many years ago and told him he could have mine for 40p ...he said he was hoping for a good deal more!! I agree with the thought on the new investor. I still see a chance here of an MBO backed by them. I asked about broker coverage and they know they need some proper coverage and it will be addressed. Not selling yet. In fact I bought some more at 32p last week. in the hope that the AGM statement would be good | harrogate
30/7/2010 11:05 | O yea of little faith harrogate! My 40p looking possible now! (albiet 6 months late and creeping there slowly!) In all seriousness, we have to hope / exepct that the new investors are looking for decent returns on thier money and to get this are doing a lot behind the scenes. This, coupled with robust trading might get us a decent uplift over the coming months. Might not sell out at 40P after all :-) Cheers SH | seahorseleisure
29/7/2010 22:15 | All quite positive. Great! | topvest
29/7/2010 09:52 | AGM today ... they usually issue a bit of a trading update ...11.00 am start | harrogate
13/7/2010 10:28 | Hi Juts tried to buy a few more of these..I think the trust has hoovered up all the spare shares. 30p to buy 15,000 and the market is trying to buy as well. If we get a bit of if interest or the trust wants more we could see a few p rise over the next few weeks I think | harrogate
06/6/2010 18:07 | 2/6/10(Hoodless Brennan) OPSEC SECURITY GROUP (OSG, 25p, £14.01m) Finals to March 2010 saw revenues of £35m (£39.3m) with underlying PBT of £1.55m (£2.36m) with adjusted EPS of 3.3p (2.9p), due to a tax income for the year of £0.16m (tax charge £0.90m). This implies an H2 profit of some £1.3m or so with the group saying the stronger H2 trading has continued into the start of the new year with an order pipeline that underlines the expectations for growth. H2 saw the start of the benefits from the integration of the American production facilities. The group ended the period with net debt of £8.98m (net debt £8.8m) post a £3.72m acquisition spend and a loan refinancing. The group expects a bounce back from the lows in its Banknote and high Security operations, driven by a recovery in car volumes, new contracts in Asia, China and Russia together with new product launches. Brand protection had a strong second half to recover to almost flat sales which will benefit from new customers in this year. ID Solutions was hit by the loss of 1 Asian customer but was helped by stronger sales in USA and Canada. We move the shares to a BUY with a 30p price target, based on the H2 run rate. | harrogate
04/6/2010 07:23 | I agree they have had a lot of market weakness to deal with but they have made some real mistakes, as you say they overpaid for the acquisitions and got themselves into a mess with the bank which has cost a lot to sort and remains expensive. But I really like the new investor and I am sure they will shake up the board ..we needed some new blood. I have looked at the results in more detail and I think we could be in for a good year. Sales will benefit from $ rate and the wording on the results suggest that sales are well up on last year...Maybe £40m+ Margins were actually 46% in H2 which showed the volume impact on the reduced cost base ..if this continues we will be in good shape with the costs as they are Opex ... they seem to have this under control and so the margin should flow through to the bottom line The JV which was disappointing ... This is really a Microsoft thing and I can't believe with Windows 7 the contribution from this is not going to be better this year. I would really like a broker to issue some guidance and I am going to contact the FD to see if they intend to get some coverage ..without it we may have to wait until the interims in November. I still believe that this is a quoted company that should be private and I can see Investcorp sorting that out so they can structure deals in a way that quoted companies couldn't. I am very bullish on this at the moment and if it falls back from here will get a few more. | harrogate
02/6/2010 08:15 | I don't suppose they can be held entirely responsible for last years performance, their business is to a large extent reliant on conusmer spending AIUI. That said they do seem to have paid a high price for some of their acquisitions and got themselves into a bit of a mess with financing. | arthur_lame_stocks
02/6/2010 08:12 | Results ok. Outlook statements in the RNS all seem pretty positive to me and the reorganisation they have done with the increased levels of sales should bode well. It might even be worth their while getting some broker coverage now which they seem to have ignored for a while. I think we might get this into the 30s now this year. I would be happy with that from where we were. If they really get things motoring I think we could have a good ride for a couple of years until they mess it up again which they seem to do all the time. | harrogate
23/4/2010 09:02 | There seems to be a bit of stirring here. The one thing that could be interesting is the contribution from the JV that puts technology into Microsoft products. The last time in 2007 that MS had a big product launch OSG contribution from the JV went up from £690k to £3.3million. I have just read that Windows 7 is the most successful product launch from MS in a decade so we could get a one off hike from this in 2010/2011. | harrogate |
