07/3/2003 00:32 | Too right, I have lost a fair few thousand as a result of this and am not a happy bunny. What on earth are they doing? Can they just walk off into the sunset on April 2nd leaving people totally out of pocket? This shatters my faith in the stock market if it is the case - no wonder everyone is getting into property overseas as well as in the UK. I hear the Sydney property market is increasing by 100% every two years and is not going to slow down. If only I had invested in that instead. | biffboff
07/3/2003 00:19 | The bit about the new board being able to fund the company doesn't sound great either. Surely any such funding would dilute the holdings of existing shareholders. Sounds like another example of small shareholders getting totally shafted. Presumably this whole issue will have to be put to a vote - I can't see any small shareholder voting in favour. | grebo
07/3/2003 00:14 | Shares will be untradeable, except if you can locate another holder who wishes to buy from you then the company may provide that facility. Shareholder rights (if you own less than 30%) are as good as non existent (since legal costs are prohibitive) and future value creation will reside purely with whether the directors are 'honest' your call. touch | touch2002 |
