A couple of very interesting trades. A 10k buy at 194.84 yesterday and a delayed 25k at 193.0 which is reported as a sell but I think it's more likely it's a buy.

I make no sense of it at all and begin to wonder if there is one party acquiring all this stock.

hmm. Another buy for which someone had to pay the full ask on a 10 pt spread. Good start to the year

Another decent sized buy gone through pushing the price higher again.
It seems to me that as FTSE rises, it is enabling someone to release cash to buy into NMD.

A couple of weeks on and the price rise has paused not surprisingly. MM's are happy to quote me well inside the inside the spread to sell 10k shares telling me there's still demand out there for stock.

The "construction" sector (as opposed to house-building) has woken up. SFR (steel construction) is flying too.

Joined in with a few. Emphasis on construction in the Autumn Statement will hopefully result in an increase in work.

I'm a bit later to this one than most here, but with legacy deadweight being dealt with and order book very healthy, plus the resumption of dividend, I'd argue the share price is only just underway, 10 year chart gives a good perspective IMV

Yes job vacancies in all areas can only bode well unless half the staff have walked out :)) but I doubt that if everything I've read is anything to go by they are very engaged with all employees.

This is turning into a truly excellent trade and it's moving up again.

It looks to me like all these 10k trades that are going through are sells but we continue to find buyers to soak them up. Given how tightly held this stock is the 10k sells can't go on much longer as they have to come from somewhere.

I can't fathom the buying though and what's driving it - there's always a reason but I'd love to know what it is.

I took a look at their twitter feed and they appear to be very focused on recruitment, so one assumes they've got lots of work

I believe the trust is buying them from Mrs Moyle. I did some research on this some time ago which I can't find to hand but I think this Mrs Moyle is the widow of the founder.

I assume she doesn't need the money and is releasing them as and when the trust has dividend income to buy them and conveniently within her capital tax allowance so she has no tax to pay on the transaction. She's still got around 225,000 shares left so at the speed the trust is buying them it's going to take a long time before she runs out. If I'm correct the family will need to consider some additional tax planning to avoid inheritance tax. (with £360k worth of shares I'm not sure why the family don't set up yet another trust)

More interesting perhaps is the impact of this affect if the company really does start performing appropriately and ramps the dividend back up. I am hoping for a minimum of a final dividend of 1.5p but believe it is likely to be more.

If ever the family do absorb Mrs Moyle's shares the remaining free float is not large

I think he's purchasing from the legacy shares that he has first option to buy as it was a trade off market.

On disposal of the shares from the William Morris Settlement, the Moyle family have the option to purchase any such shares before they are made available to the public.

As the director buy appears to be through a beneficial trust I assume it looks like it is using what is left of the dividend after tax and other costs to purchase shares in NMD.
All good news as it shows faith in the future of the company.
