you could not make it up... NVE sell a brilliant pipeline of wind farm assets and Landfill Gas assets for about £1m / MW and now we get press reports of Biffa selling just their Landfill Gas assets for £3m / MW infuriating... i hope EMI collapses and takes Guy Hands to hell http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b8b715c6-28aa-11df-b86f-00144feabdc0.html?ftcamp=rss

Thankyou Praipus - I have been in touch with both Novera and Infinis who both say I can still sell the shares at the 77p offer price. However the forms on their website are for shareholders with certificates. I contacted my broker and they said they couldnt sell the shares as they had been delisted!! So now I dont know what to do. It seems it is possible to sell the shares but no-one is actually telling me how to go about it.

or see the example of TCY Telecity got taken over by 3i in 2003 ish and then came back to the market in 2008 and has done very well for those who held their nerve and stayed on as minority shareholders

Re: "dissenters register" http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/investing/article.html?in_article_id=419452&in_page_id=166 "Sometimes a company gets taken over and the shares become 'unconditional', which means the company gets most of the shares and the only thing for most shareholders to do is to sell. If they don't, their names go on to a dissenters' register, where they stay for 12 years. It is often the case that those names on dissenters' registers belong to people who have lost track of their shares, but it is still possible to claim the money. If you do so within the 12 years, the registrar employed by the company will handle the transaction. After 12 years have passed, the money is transferred to the Accountant General of the Supreme Court. Anybody who thinks they are owed money not claimed before the 12-year cut off can make an application to this body. However, as far as dividends are concerned, any payments not claimed are lost for ever after 12 years."

fl4nders you should be ok the registrars tell me the offer is still open. Also if there is enough of us who do not wish to sell companies usually set up a dissenters register. Though this is not mandatory and you could loose all your money but that can happen with shares anyway.

AIM listing being cancelled soon. Only a few more % needed and they can force compulsory sales of the remainder.

Come on International Power put a cash and or shares offer in so we can enjoy the potential here as well. Some say the climate change issue is twice as bad as expected. For me selling today for cash (worthless and no interest or dividend) a few months in to the worst crash since 1929 seems ludicrous should'nt we wait for a higher offer or until we are officially in growth mode again?

They'll have a pretty big minority shareholder if they aren't!

I would like NVE to squeeze more out of them, this is a bigger, stronger Company than it was when they bid 90p. AO

Yes - but they are not being very enthusiastic either. The price has been sliding since the bid was announced. If they do up the bid, it might only be +3.5p to 68p, so people who have been waiting can justify having held off. If they don't bid, we could drop 17p to 48.5p before picking up again. As I mentioned, I sold out at around 67p, but would buy back in if the bid failed and the price dropped.

sbs, L&G, F&C and Bank of Canada appear to think there'll be a bidding war.

The issue to me is: fast lane - higher cash offer to win the bid; or slow lane - bid fails, lower price short term and DIY progress.

I think buffett just goes for shares that meet his needs that he looks for in a business whether its new or old. But i am new to this share and have done a lot of reading up and i was just wondering, this company seems to be good at getting its sites up but never seems to get the amount of wind turbines it first states. Is this and plus the money situation the main reason this company is going to take a long time to get going?

Yes - I'm sure that will pay of handsomely in the long term, particularly if he is spending USD on the wind assets.
