19/11/2010 15:11 | Big write up with sell rec in todays Chronic Investor - always good news! | killieboy
02/11/2010 18:47 | This is really pulling away. Bid in the offing? | beardmore
21/10/2010 16:16 | Now reaching highest level since February 2008. | alan@bj
05/10/2010 10:52 | Takover seems less likely. Let's hope the company continues to grow divis. Interims 30th November. z | zeppo
17/9/2010 13:05 | I notice that Martin Negre sold 50,000 shares yesterday at 351p. Does this signify the top of this cycle? He is a heavyweight director and former chairman of NWG and I feel his sale must be a leading indicator. At the very least, it says to me that there will be no takeover this year! As a well run water company, I shall be pleased to still be invested and claiming the dividends. Kind regards Linhur | linhur
14/9/2010 17:05 | ...I agree, however the yield is not bad and there's always the chance of a takeover there also one day | bountyhunter
13/9/2010 19:31 | .....well, I'm not too happy with my SSE holding, albeit I've had it for years and I'm in significant profit. However, of late SSE has been out of favour and very weak. Can't quite see why. But I've no intention of selling. | beardmore
13/9/2010 17:20 | ...don't forget SSE ;-) | bountyhunter
10/9/2010 17:46 | No, I tend to pick my sector, buy & hold. It's been a wintery few years but NOW the market seems to be recognising the value of utilities. What with NWG, SVT, UU, NG and VOD (which I see as a Utility) the last month or so has been immensely cheering. | beardmore
10/9/2010 16:40 | Are you hedged in any way if these or the markets drop off a cliff again? | praipus
10/9/2010 16:38 | Yes, it seemed like a good idea at the time. | praipus
10/9/2010 16:10 | You obviously decided against being called Priapus. Deliberately? | beardmore
10/9/2010 14:25 | Thanks. Selftrade have finally coughed up. | praipus
10/9/2010 13:50 | I'm with Alliance and I received the divi today. | beardmore
10/9/2010 13:12 | Anyone else waiting for the divi payment? I'm with Selftrade. | praipus
08/9/2010 15:19 | Frankly I hope there isn't a takeover; I've held these shares since 2003 and the dividend return is excellent. However, I think their peak was around 365p pre-credit crunch, and we're not far away from that now, so maybe something is going to happen. Do your own research of course. | alan@bj
08/9/2010 14:46 | MACD looks very promising. | beardmore
08/9/2010 14:24 | How high will it go! Is there more news on tge possible buy out or is there something else afoot? | craigends
02/9/2010 16:04 | Ex-Divi but still very firm and above the takeover price mooted six months ago. z | zeppo
28/7/2010 10:22 | Staying firm. News tomorrow? z | zeppo
13/7/2010 15:25 | AGM and Interim management Statement 29th July? If there is any bid interest they should comment. Meanwhile the price stays firm and at the level suggested as a low takeover figure six months ago. Suggested takeover figure is now £4.1. See link to Mail article in posting 1131. z | zeppo
08/7/2010 19:05 | Not wishful thinking according to the 'Daily Mail' which I looked at later today. 'whispers ...Ontario Teachers Pension Fund ........to sell its 26.8% stake ...to the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority........... ADIA will then launch a 410p a share cash offer for Northumbrian supported by 16% shareholder Invesco. Read more: Que Sera, Sera! z | zeppo
08/7/2010 15:14 | wishful thinking I'm afraid | killieboy
08/7/2010 10:00 | £3.75 would be better than the previous rumoured bid of only about £3.25. Still not good news for long term income investors who would rather stay with water co. divis. z | zeppo |
