I may be wrong, but I think the Goldman Sachs comments were made quite a few months ago, so not new news, but I may be wrong.

If they've only just announced that, then all the better.

Well, they are due to publish some results early Dec. That's the only reason I can see for the rise, as the figures could be good.

This share price was as high as 290p only a month or so ago, and this price was considered a fair value. Then for some reason it dropped to 205p on no bad news. So this leads me to believe that the share price may rise up towards 300p again pre RNS on results.

Also, back in Oct, I think Legal And General reduced their holding in NTG. So maybe they've bought back in perhaps ?

Only my opinion of course. I bought in at 214 a week ago and sold at 241 today, and will probably rebuy in again tomorrow when I guess there may be a retrace. I've been in and out of NTG since about August, so I want to be in before the results are released, as I reckon they could be good.

As I say, just my opinion, I'm sure someone else will come up with a completely different response.

Typical that the RNS and company website mention only the
record date nort the ex-entitlement date.

Hey Spob - almighty creator of many good company threads
over the years - do you know how to do the scroll-bar thing?
I showed how on another thread because there was loads of
header info and hardly any room for posts, but I don't
think you saw it.

NH: what's Northgate doing
NH: after our savage attack on Friday
PM: Ah - elt me check
PM: 65p in the middle
PM: down 2.5p
PM: only another 45p to pick up there
NH: did H&M Capital Management go short?
PM: Price is defying gravity
PM: I think we did - all in
NH: what everything?
NH: slightly reckless
PM: Nah
PM: screaming sell
NH: still a screaming sell
PM: remember - 50m shares issued at 60p - and 1,200,000,000 issued at 7p
PM: Going do the maths
NH: actually I was surprised the Northgate flaks
NH: didn't come on after the show on Friday
NH: to defend the deal
NH: but I guess you can't defend a deal as bad as this
NH: the company is still well and truly up the creek

Definately a short for this company. Things looking bad for them. The 'white van man' days are over (for this year anyway)............especially for the hiring in Spain where building industry is dormant. UK operating margins fell from 20.6 to 11.1 per cent and in Spain from 21.8 to 12.7 per cent.

I wish you well spob with the new thread :-)

Sorry monsta can't help you with that one.

Have a query too. If you are short and the company goes bust what happens?

I think NTG can break covenants, on residual prices, or otherwise age the fleet a lot. Either way they have far too much debt, and bought too much stuff at the top at the wrong price for cash, and hubristically rejected a very good offer. They should look at their Board. I don't agree that it is well run. It has done stupid things and taken too much risk.
