Brighton Marina had it marked at £6.48. The Hollingbury branch was £5 on the shelf but £6.48 at the check out.

Online it's £5

She's obviously a very classy lady.
I sent a man to my local Asda and he told me that it was marked at £6.48 on the shelf.

Hi bdog, tried the Penfolds white last night. Very nice even though I'm not a fan of white wine. The wife thought it was exceptional.

Thanks for that one.

Asda had it marked on the shelf at £5 but it still came up at the check out at £6.48. So if anyone else buys it please check your receipt.

Hooray , a convert. Keep an eye out for the 76 version.
WRT to the pricing at Asda , the shelf ticket bears no relation to what you'll be charged. So theoretically the white should only be charged at a fiver as it's all done centrally. I'l try it out later on.

Of interest:-

Netherlands

-- GDF Suez E&P Nederland B.V, the new 50% owner in the Amstel Field, offshore Netherlands, has successfully completed the drilling of an appraisal well on 29 March 2011. The partners are currently evaluating a development plan for the oil field, in which San Leon Energy holds a 2.5% royalty.

Italy

-- San Leon has notified the Italian authorities that it is relinquishing two offshore Sicily permits. The Company has made the decision following the publication of a new Italian Environmental Law in June 2010 which placed tighter restrictions on oil and gas exploration within five nautical miles of the coast and twelve nautical miles of any protected environmental area. In effect, San Leon would not have gained an environmental authorisation to drill exploration or appraisal wells in two permit areas, D.352 CR-SL (Narciso) and D.354 CR-SL (Sciacca). The relinquishment will become effective upon publication of a notice in the official Italian Ministerial Gazette, B.U.I.G.. San Leon will continue to retain D.353 CR-SL (Narciso South) and its two onshore Po Valley assets Sorbolo and Sospiro.

It's good , but maybe not as good as a £15.50 main course should be. Probably best to stick to the set price lunch menu. Early evening menu is not available during Wimbledon fortnight.

They appear to have put up the prices even more as the sad deluded Murray fans are in town. I only had a glass of Chenin blanc as was driving. Time to catch up now.

Self deprecation I'm afraid , I did it and it was jolly good. So I thought anyway , but you might be right in view of what is now known as the carvery incident.
BTW if you can get hold of any of the Shiraz/cab 76 special edition , grab it.

In that case it must be worth a try.

What was wrong with the lunch? You might need to send your wife for cookery lessons... if her hand is better.

The white is only a fiver! Honestly , it's very good with food and I generally don't touch white. Had some with Easter lunch and everyone was very impressed (not with the lunch obviously). Don't take my word for it.
