30/10/2015 10:45 | egg I've often wondered that myself but I've no idea why Radmat has a holding. | littlealbatross
30/10/2015 10:23 | Just for info, I've sold out of these, had a great run from chrisis33 mentioned them way back when they were in the teens. Just a little wary of anything related to building at the moment, I hope for holders it'll continue upwards. GLAH. | battlebus2
30/10/2015 08:28 | Thanks for that. One more question if I may. Why do Radmat have a holding? | eggbaconandbubble
29/10/2015 18:48 | egg Jon Pither co-founded Bear with Graham Forrest. He was also chairman till he resigned due to 'conflicts of interest..' | littlealbatross
29/10/2015 17:32 | What is or was Jon Pither's connection with NTBR? | eggbaconandbubble
29/10/2015 16:01 | No new announcements as far as I know. The share price has tended to rise just prior to results and trading statements then drift back. Interims should be due early December and we know Bear has announced a "record Summer." Biggest holder Jon Pither recently reduced his holding by nearly 3%. If there is a rise after interims would he continue to sell? In post 559 I mentioned that Lakehouse (LAKE, market cap £150 mill)and Bear have a very similar modus operandi and that LAKE has been very acquisitive since listing in March of this year and that it seeks to grow its geographical footprint. It has an office in Newcastle. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that LAKE might even view Bear a tasty morsel? | littlealbatross

29/10/2015 15:28 | Heard nothing but the free float is so small and the bid-offer is quite chunky so just a few shares sold or bought would move the quote to the bid or offer as appropriate and nudge the price. So IMHO this is a buy and hold, waiting for big price moving news or a nice fat takeover offer, putting up with chunky price volatility in the meantime. | onehandeconomist
29/10/2015 15:01 | Anybody heard any news here other than the above please. Surprised its drifting off. | shanklin
21/10/2015 14:58 | Bear announces that historic Souter Lighthouse near Sunderland is to get a £120,000 facelift. MGM will do the work. After that "record Summer" maybe Bear will have a record Autumn. | littlealbatross
09/10/2015 12:14 | Bear announces successful completion and handover of renovation and enhancement of student accommodation in Newcastle in time for arrival of new students. | littlealbatross
21/9/2015 17:14 | Bear announces that Jon Pither has reduced his holding to 14.4%. (was 17.3%) | littlealbatross
18/9/2015 11:09 | I expect we will need to clear out a few sellers first given that we are at a 12 month high. However, I'm confident that the interims in just 10 weeks will promote a step change in valuation given that they are likely to be strong and without any exceptionals/one off adjustments. 18/9/2015 09:34 | The chart is definitely looking interesting and the shares are very cheap, the perfect combination IMO. | spooky
16/9/2015 14:13 | Well to me it sounds like more work for NTBR and that's all we wish for. | wywcu1
16/9/2015 14:03 | edit, does that make any sense? lol | pj 1
16/9/2015 14:03 | In efect its a 'contract' but with unspecified individual project values or number of projects, to be agreed later, so I assume a number of projects with differing values as and when but now without the need for any tendering and effecively the tender has been awarded, at agreed pricing irrespective usually of the individual project size From experience in Service Industry Framework agreemens can get quite complicated. Occassionally a framework agreement can include pre payments to the supplier, however probably doubtful in construction. | pj 1
16/9/2015 13:43 | No real idea what this means for NTBR... | shanklin
14/9/2015 10:36 | In post 545 I mused that I hoped no acquisitive predator was,(Like the popular children's book),"Going on a Bear Hunt" at this paltry price. NTBR and Lakehouse (LAKE) have a very similar modus operendi. Both operate in the Support Services Sector. Both have subsidiaries/divisio LAKE was founded in 1988 and grew by acquisition prior to listing in March of this year since when it has already made 3 acquisitions including one today. It has spent about £20m of the £30m initially raised. It operates from 27 offices mainly in the SE and E of England but has offices elsewhere including one in NTBR's back yard, Newcastle. It clearly seeks to grow its geographical footprint.Market caps are NTBR £9.85m, LAKE £153m. Will LAKE provide NTBR with direct competition? Could both work together in some way? Just a bit more musing as we wait for NTBR's potential to be realised.Any comments please? | littlealbatross
12/9/2015 12:23 | What has happened to this chat space | a2584728
11/9/2015 16:19 | Thanks for posting that, it does give even more confidence that NTBR is well on course for an improved result this year, it is hopefully a question of how much better than last year, this year will be. | daz
11/9/2015 15:37 | Thanks Martin I had just noticed the subscribe to news option and so I am now on the list. | sailing john
11/9/2015 15:30 | sj Its helpful that one can subscribe to news alerts including those they don't see as warranting an RNS. Cheers, Martin | shanklin |
