You would be hard pushed to show that we are getting a poor deal if the former chief exec has accepted 96p. You know we've got a poor deal, I know we've got a poor deal, but you can't make someone pay more if he holds all the cards and he doesn't want to pay more. I am disappointed, but happy to move on.

Section J of the takeover code re. Obligations as to information headed up " shareholders must be given sufficient information and advice to enable them to reach a properly informed decision as to the merits or demerits of an offer."

Well i'm not too sure they have passed that test!

There you have it, a special divi would have been taxed as income, this gives the opportunity to only be taxed as CGT, LOL! Thanks for that.....

clampit, I cant find that on website, the last announcement I can see is the one re posting of the offer document. Just out of interest what %age are they after for becoming unconditional, they have previously said it was 50% so on that basis we're there now.

Copy of offer is on Northacre's website under Investor relations. Settlement 14 days after closing date or later date of becoming unconditional.

We (he says naively) dont know we're only getting 96p, Abu may be picking shares up in the market at 96p whilst an agreement has been reached with DAMAC but not disclosed yet to offer us all 110p?

Sure he wouldv'e bought, If he was given the green light to other perks, If he resold them at an apparent 4p loss.

Even if he did buy a few extra, he may have been on a commission on everything he can get his hands on.

brando, Can't happen, he bought at 100p and if Abu Dhabi bought at that or above they would have to offer everyone the same figure. They are only buying at 96p and that looks like where the offer will stay.

i reckon the lone arab trader who bought a wad recently was on a deal to acquire and sell on at a profit so that abu dhabi could get their 50.01

the offer document should list reasons for rec by independent directors and should shed light on material contracts..ie. the only one that matters vic gate! then we should see what sort of a steal or not 96p is.

PI shafted really...no option but to accept the 96p ...or sell now for 94.7pence
