|u813061: Interim Results out today which were pretty good. Share price up. Lots of potential to develop more inernational schools in China, Malaysia and the Middle East. Active instutiotions on the shareholder register to ensure that the company delivers.|
|penpont: Yes oniabsta, those are very confident statements. I think the company can justify them due to the relative simplicity and ease of expansion of their business activities. Share price is showing good strength in weak markets.|
|andysand: intersting that the offer was rejected. I think that 200p was actually a fair valuation of the company at the moment. If the share price now drops significantly, there will be an opportunity to buy back in. I will buy at anything below 150p.
|typo56: Principle Capital Partners Ltd has said it is considering a bid for Nord Anglia Education PLC, but warned it is unlikely to make an offer at the current share price.|
|nurdin: 19.5k buy..probably what excited the share price :o)
edit: Deleted now :o(|
|queeny2: I can't quite understand why I should buy shares in a company that has:
a) abandoned / de-emphasised its two core businesses to become a China story
b) a share price supported by one buyer alone.
|andysand: There have been a couple of articles this week. This from citywire.........
"Shares in Alliance Pharma and Nord Anglia finished higher on Friday following revelations of shrewd interest."
I can't quote the full article as I don't subscribe to citywire. However, the article refers to Bryan Myerson AKA Pricipal Capital Holdings. They are active in the companies that they buy and usually force takeovers or major corparate activity to quickly enhance the share price.
We will see what happens:)
|u813061: My valuation of Nord Anglia is as follws :-
Nurseries 75% of net assets £ 35 m
International Schools 2006 PBIT = £ 4 m tax at 30% = £ 2.8 m multiply by p/e ratio of 15 = £ 42 m
Learning Services 2006 PBIT = £ 5.5 m tax at 30 % = £ 3.9 m multilpy by p/e ratio iof 15 = £ 58 m
Total = £ 135 m
Net debt is £ 44 m. Pension deficit is £ 7 m. Closing the head office and making the staff redudant (including board) £ 4m.
Total Liabilities £ 55 m
Value of equity is £ 80 m. Number of shares in issue is 38 m.
Target share price £ 2.10
No wonder the institutions are buying.
Nurseries cannot be valued on a p/e ratio due to their absence of profits. 75% of net asset value would be around what you would get if you sold each nursery off one by one. Freehold sites so they will have value.|
|hectorp: 'tipped' sort of , by Bearbull in the Inv. Chronicle.
as a share with more cash than the share price,
at 34% of its 5 year high, average free cash 14.9p/share, value as annuity 115p, percentage cash/share price, 167%.
in same situation he seees Salvesen, Metal Bulletin, Trifast, JJB sports, Kingfisher ( I hold)|
|cambodia: Nord Anglia. An interesting play, where does it bounce? The problem is that NAE has almost no peers. This side of the education sector almost has no other listed companies. There's no barometer which shows how the market rates the education sector in terms of other listed companies share price. Therefore if the markets have gone cold on this sector NAE may now be in freefall. Having said that, think it unlikely. However drop to all time low (86P) may be on cards. Other consideration is NAE DEBT level. Restructuring and rising future demand provide the upside.|
