Maybe there is news on the forthcoming Bentley auction?. The auction needs to go well next week otherwise we might see a further fall. It is on tuesday and either someone knows that interest is not encouraging or some investors are nervous after the last auction. I hope some are just nervous . There were not that may sells to be honest.

Despite the aforementioned disappointment the share price has remained strong - frankly, to my surprise. More auctions follow soon and then maybe we will get an RNS update. Would be good.

EDIT Notice an unusual surge of sales has knocked 4-5p off the price. Maybe we will have to accept a short term drop in the share price until we get an RNS - maybe as far as 170p which would give us an opportunity to top up for the longer term.

Amazed the share price hasn't reflected yesterdays apparently very disappointing auction.
I have been attempting to get some sort of report out of Bentleys but no one will help. Maybe the expectation was poor hence the small drop in the share price in the days leading up to it.
This is only one spoke in the wheel but surely after the success in New York, they must be feeling a bit flat. Wonder if there were any reasons given for the poor level of bidding?
Bit frustrated at being left in the dark though guess it is early days.

AUCTION UPDATE
About a third of the way through. Don't think it's going very well only a couple have exceeded estimates so far and a lot are being passed through unsold.
Will report later - long time to go
END OF AUCTION I missed the big ones (early) - lot 17 was estimated at £1.2m-£1.5m- maybe someone can advise. My impression is that things improved a bit late on with a couple of lots exceeding expectations. However, many lots passed and a number sold below estimate.
Be interesting to hear from someone who understands better how well it went.

Yes in the shorter term this auction,as much as the next set of results, will decide the share price over the next few months.
A disappointing sale would normally mean a drop back in the share price though the expectation of excellent results (almost guaranteed) "in excess of expectations" means that 300p by this time next month is not at all impossible. I am very surprised that this expectation has not boosted the share price by far more inside the last few weeks.
I'll be there at 5pm.

The coins being sold in the bentley collection will probably make some news but the coins being sold tomorrow are more valuable. You can watch the auction live , starting at 5pm Should be good listening , especially lot 17.

The part of the Bentley collection being auctioned on 8th May could also add to the good news. The interim results were out on 13th April last year I think-any idea of a date for this year?

Topped up this morning with small purchase takes my holding here to exactly 30k. Quite happy to keep investing here and following the price up. Tomorrows activity could well be lively and I anticipate a big rise in the share price -hopefully the same 10-20% that followed the last big auction.
The words "no brainer" might well be used again after the results of tomorrow seep through.
I have abandoned GNG one of my bigger holdings for many years and intend to increase my stake here and am also buying into a few tiddlers starting with ETO.

Yes waiting on that with baited breath. The recent fall back in the share price was totally expected as a result of no news and has offered an excellent opportunity to buy some cheap stock. April could see the next 20p jump to a new high - all being well.

PS Excellent Stanley Gibbons results should encourage investment here surely

I agree totally Greek Islander. Next auction is in Hong Kong, early in April. Let's hope it is as good as the one in New York.
Stanley Gibbons results out on Friday.Expected to be good, might give us a little nudge upward again.

I guess we are waiting for news for the next big rise to happen.
Shouldn't be too long in coming, as the next two big auctions loom on the horizon.
A few million pounds in the coffers will do wonders for the share price. I love these stocks that just rise steadily over a period with the odd big jump. Before I got out of Volvere the situation was similar with the share price only going one way but then it started to stagnate and inch backwards which is when I got out and switched most of the proceeds into Noble. VLE has since regressed further. NBL is the ideal stock for me - not overpriced by a long way, fast increasing revenue, cash rich, great prospects and little apparent downside. This year could be an important one for the share price.

Moneybags - guess you must have got a very good price - NBL looking cheap again and an excellent hedge against a bear market. Surprised to see such a pronounced drop but guess after such a run of rises, some profit taking was inevitable.
