08/1/2015 08:07 | No shocks in the update. Steady as she goes! | ygor706
28/11/2014 08:44 | Investors here should note that SAB Miller has started to move into overseas soft drinks markets with the announcement of a tie up with a french company to bottle coca cola in Africa. Miller are a big player and could easily mop up a few smaller uk drinks companies over the next 12 months or so ....they have cash to spend, | ygor706
20/11/2014 08:37 | Will the removal of the beer tie help Nichols? I think it might. | ygor706
15/11/2014 00:18 | Outlook We expect our UK performance for the remainder of 2014 to maintain the positive trend seen in the first half of the year. In light of the strong performance of in-country sales and the change in timing of shipments to the Middle East, we anticipate International revenues in the second half of 2014 to be ahead of the prior year. In summary, the Board believes that full year performance will be in line with current expectations. above from half year report | cnx
14/11/2014 08:19 | I can see nothing in the press to justify a fall of this magnitude. The fine is ancient history and sterling as a strong currency doesn't really do it for me either. I think that the low volume observation is relevant and do wonder if Nichols market cap is working against it at the moment. There may be some portfolio rationalisations going on here and clearly large lines would take a long time to shift. We may soon be getting towards a buy point but I would like to hear something from the company before topping up. | ygor706
13/11/2014 22:18 | To be fair it's been on a very high rating and even now bit pricey. Might be nothing wrong at all with trading just that share price got overheated. Exactly like TEP earlier this year. | hydrus
13/11/2014 20:21 | ygor706 Was thinking the same. Results not due for a while, but you'd think given the fine summer, trading would have been good. You'd think the market would already have discounted the £8m hit from the legal case(as you said in July). The strong pound be hurting exports ? An excessive amount discounting going on in the supermarkets (there seems to be). | lobby ludd
13/11/2014 17:27 | Only one third of average daily volume over 3 months so no real conviction in any move? MMs looking for stock? Can't find anything of any substance | markgahagan
13/11/2014 16:52 | Quite a fall here against a zero news background. What's happening that we don' t know about? | ygor706
13/11/2014 15:12 | Chart not looking that great, where will it stop, £8? | hydrus
03/10/2014 12:25 | Not quite the usual publicity! | robow
14/8/2014 16:57 | Looks to me as if the chart is forming a reverse head and shoulders. Things looking better here than they have for some little time! | ygor706
24/7/2014 11:21 | The interims look pretty good to me considering the negative impact of currency movements on overseas sales. The litigation loss is unfortunate but that now looks to have been discounted by the share price The share price was running a little ahead of itself last year and it may be awhile before we see £12 again. That all said, we have a very good business here that should continue to make progress. | ygor706
24/7/2014 11:09 | Greatinterim results today. | lobby ludd
22/7/2014 11:06 | On the upside this summer's weather could hardly have been better for soft drinks sales; and I notice Nichols 'Levi Roots' brand gaining supermarket shelf space. The interims next week (court case aside) should be good. | lobby ludd
02/7/2014 16:09 | Nearly £10m! And they only set aside £2m; not good... | vb79
02/7/2014 15:42 | A large cashpile always useful when you have to pay out £9.5m in litigation costs (: | lobby ludd
29/6/2014 21:38 | Ramadan started early (28 June), so should help lift the interims. | lobby ludd
17/6/2014 18:07 | Big buying turnover and the price has fallen. C'est la vie. | ygor706
21/3/2014 15:45 | Majestic wine might be a nice start ?? !! | emeraldzebra
20/3/2014 17:18 | The company have looked pretty fully valued on fundamentals for some little while now and it has done nothing with the cash pile. Sciece in Sport is based only a few miles up the road and I'm surprised that they haven't had a nibble at that. Too big a fall in the Nichols share price must also make them a takeover target in an industry where big is beautiful. I continue to hold. | ygor706
20/3/2014 13:03 | I thought maybe the introduction of a new pound coin, which will hit vending machine operators (millions of machines will have to be altered/renewed). Nichols have a drinks supply arm to clubs etc., but is there much vending involved ? I wouldn't have thought so. | lobby ludd
20/3/2014 10:13 | Agreed DavR0s; no matter how good the company is, market sentiment can be the biggest driver in the company's share price regardless of how well they perform as a business! Frustrating but sadly that's the way it is I guess. Anything in the budget that might be linked to drinks producers like NICL? I couldn't spot anything. | sagarn
19/3/2014 12:54 | Hi Sagarn, yes totally agree. Will be more than happy to buy back in, but sentiment seems to be against it short term. Will put on my watch list for a later date | davr0s |
