RB, cautious on retail, have an approx 0.5% invested in ABF,
NXT is well below that %, only a token holding atm, they are my only retailers atm.
Would add another few NXT near £40 or below, but it would never be a big position.

Essential

8% dividend but a 11% drop.

Avoid until the dust settles.

)

Meant to post 1.60 on ordinary dividend, with a 1.80 special
that is 8% at the current share price

I''m sure anyone short may point out that today's fall alone more than wipes
that out!.

just bought some.
a 12% fall on fairly light volume is an overreaction.

I make it closer to 8% on yield, £1.80 on the ordinary and 1.80 special.

The special dividend is also allowing for the low end of their free cashflow
estimates, so would hope they can pay that amount.

This is a good time to buy IMO. Next announce a cautionary warning every time, then consistently bounce back to beat the prediction.Next is a sound company, well run and awash with cash. Also, their products really are better quality; I used to work for them, and I have shirts bought twenty or more years ago at staff discount that have been worn regularly that still look good as new, unlike the junk I've had from M&S, Topshop, George and others which are frayed at the collars and cuffs within months.Look at the dividend as well. Regular divis for the coming year likely to be around £2 in total, plus four special divis of 45p each as announced in today's statement, that's equal to nearly 10% return at this share price I wouldn't write Next off just yet.

Like I said at 8000.... This is just a warehouse full of bras and pants with a good trademark, and a stonking short.

£800m on a £4bn turnover,incredible.
Hardly any net assets.
how did they ever pull it off?
Financial engineering I suspect.
Always buying back their own shares at over inflated prices.

About £800 Million on pre tax and £300 M approx on free cashflow,
this with a major headwind from GBP weakness, not sure the outlook is that dire.

What goes up to £70 must come down eventually...it was all about share backs & online trading....every time they somehow managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat or the hat out of the rabbit!...& punters fell for it..

Added another small lot at 41.40, would be surprised to see NEXT trade
much below £37-38, however did not see today's share price reaction in advance so
may well be wrong.

Another complete overreaction to a decline in sales of just 1%.

A chance to pick up some shares on the cheap I would have thought.
