Note this morning's RNS although I don't think its any great surprise?

Neuropharm Group plc (AIM: NPH), a speciality pharmaceutical company focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, provides the following update to shareholders.
While discussions regarding a sale of one or more of the Company's pipeline
assets are continuing, Neuropharm has received confirmation from each of the
companies with which it has been in discussions that none of them is currently
considering making an offer for the Company. As a result, the Company is no
longer considered to be in an offer period for the purposes of the Takeover
Code.

As previously announced, on 10 March 2010, the Company is also making
preparations for a Members' Voluntary Liquidation of the Company.

Strange trading. 25k buy at 11p, thats £2,750. The next person has to pay 12p for 10K, thats £1,200 and the last buy is for 2k and they have to pay 12.5p.

warwick, lets hope NPL-2008 is given another chance and we get to participate. It is not only important for us but possibly helping sufferers!!

all shareholders should e-mail company asking for a special dividend before wind up leaving shell company to try to sell or get agreement for NPL-2008 and other products.

ASM had a severe setback today. Not sure I understand what happened there but biotechs are proving to be very unlucky. NPH drug worked but so did the placebo in the last trial but until that point placebo did not work. I hope if no-one buys this drug, then the BOD hive it off so that no one can buy it for peanuts and if they do buy then any future success we get a share!!!

Well there's 80K for you to take TTB. I'm sure the MM's have an extra 20K at that price so perhaps you can buy 100K. :O)

......interesting point .
And , interesting that despite the depressing share price , the depressing way this has all been managed , and the depressing association with PIPJ , it seems that `Most` shareholders have been holding on .
(Can`t be entirely due to the belief that stock is totally illiquid .)

Lombiff - I am sure that Barclays have a duty of care to you. Depending on the outcome of the T&M decision you may be best to receive advice from another party.

Thanks for your final post last night btw. It's appreciated.

Thanks Boobly - it's in my nature to be generous - just ask the MMs how much I've gifted them over the years!!

I do travel to Canada a lot (our head office is there) but I live in the UK.

I have inadvertently breached the T&M rules - now I know a bit more about this, I can see that their rules are clear, but it seems to me that the rules around nominee accounts are not. I'm not a professional investor, I'm overseas a lot, and don't have time to dedicate to this, and so I thought a nominee account is the answer as I don't hold the shares and therefore I don't have to look after the share certificates, collect and cash the dividend cheques (yeah right!), and I don't have any formal reporting obligations. It was a surprise to me that the reporting obligation transferred to me when we entered the bid situation. You live and learn!

As far as I can see (and I only have the same information as everyone else on here), the Directors have done as good a job as they can in difficult circumstances - the results of SOFIA were strange, but let's not forget that NPL-2008 was shown to reduce some of the repetitive behaviours - the problem was with the control group on placebo. Since that disappointment, and while we wait for funding or a way forward, our Directors have overseen the design of the second Phase III trial and have added the two screening/testing products to the pipeline.

Unfortunately, the funding issue puts us in a fairly weak negotiating position, but we don't have a choice. I just hope we get taken out by someone with big enough pockets to give NPL-2008 a proper chance of getting to market.

All the best

Lombiff :....Nice posts last night . Respect !
At least you confirmed that the share register is totally out of date , I thought the Company secretary had a duty to maintain this .
I think you said you lived in Canada , I wouldn`t bother giving your `contravention` of the `Rules` a second thought !
I must say say you are very generous with your lack of criticism of the Directors , I do hope you`re confidence is rewarded . We`re ALL stuck in here !

I don't think I really have a method but I suppose I generally go for value stocks, and typically hold for 1-5 years. Have had some big winners (I bought a load of Ashtead at 2.5p in 2003, top-sliced from 16p upwards and eventually sold my last few at 219p). Have also had some howlers over the years - Tadpole Technology, Gladstone, Cedar, EVS, RBS - every one a dagger through the heart!!

Still have some RBS - averaged down at 12p so not too bad now.

Most of my portfolio now is in junior gold, mainly explorers, renewable energy (SEA) and of course NPH. Have had a good run on SHG and NYO lately, but will retire on LND and PGD (though probably not until I'm 94!!). I should be trying to transition into more stable (FTSE) stocks but can't resist the adrenaline of seeing these AIM minnows move! As you say though, it's difficult to build a decent position because of lack of liquidity.

FWIW, SHG is worth a look - 2.6 million ounces of gold in Tanzania, of which 480,000 oz is measured (and worth 120p per share using analysts yardstick of U$381 per measured ounce).

I'll have a look at WCC - I do have some PMHL, CHWI and POGL in a drawer somewhere.

Finally, for pocket money, I spreadbet BG. on RSI and momentum, and it has worked out pretty well.

Good luck with your picks . . .

No cards for me. Just undervalued investments. :O)

Do you usually buy net working cap stocks ? With your wallet you'd find it fairly hard though due to liquidity.

I've basically been buying net nets and am watching a few value stocks ( those which don't qualify as net nets but are cheap on assets anyway ). I've also got 30% of my portfolio in WCC which is more like a Jim Slater stock but once it gets to HK it should revalue real nicely.

That's a fair point Lombiff. I guess that we'll have to be patient and I for one will be adding sub 10p if/when we see it. :O)

A little confession: that 19K buy I asked you about that was actually my purchase. I sometimes use this to check who is genuine on a thread if I am new on it. No doubt that you are genuine but it's happenend in the past that someone has claimed my purchase.
