11/8/2010 06:54 | NSR - copied from another thread. -------------------- Master RSI - 10 Aug'10 - 22:23 - 85 of 86 Market report from the TELEGRAPH The healthcare staffing company was in focus amid rumours it has received a takeover approach. Traders tipped AA Saga which is owned by private equity giants Charterhouse, CVC and Permira as a potential predator. The talk is that Credit Suisse has been advising AA Saga, also known as Acromas, on a £112m bid for Nestor Healthcare, which rose 2¼ to 80½p. 05/8/2010 17:40 | nomunnofun no problem. Often, when you see two large trades go through together - like the pairs of 100K today at 10:20 am or 16:40pm they are not a pair of buys or a pair of sells they are effectively the buy and the sell showing twice. If I agreed to sell you 100K today without going through your broker and we agreed the deal at 77.5p say, then there would be two trades go through in the market - my sell at 77.5p and your buy at 77.5k as the mm's put through (it always shows as a trade, off market or not) but realy it's the same 100K just moving from one person to another. Like the 200K at 16:16 today was matched by two buys showing later of 100K each. Very often when you see a large wadge of trades if you look closely often 1 big trade adds up to all the smaller trades more or less or two big trades add up to the rest. It makes punters think say 2m have been sold in 2 x 1m but really it's a million buy and a million sell. Occasionally you see this too when someone just moves shares from one account (say an ISA) to another (say a pension) but then these trades don't move the mkt. It obviously isn't always the casem sometimes 2 100K in a line could be two buys but far and away most of the time it's the above imo. Hope that sort of helps :-) CR | cockneyrebel
05/8/2010 16:22 | Thats more like it, not 2% in the red where it was earlier!! | nellie1973
