Well i suppose it's fairly straight forward, when you have to sell, all you can do is accept the best price available and it would appear that the best price offered was 65p.

Most cars I see on the road are driverless already

And I'm not joking

Still waiting to see what happens to QPP before committing here.
I wouldn't worry about driverless cars just yet, maybe in 20 years but nothing to get too concerned about yet!

BBC had a feature on driverless cars this morning. What impact would this have on Nationwide's business model?Do we see possibly more auto electrical specialists employed by repairers and a move towards 'smart' repairs (those caused by dents and scratches)??Thoughts welcome.

I detest the fashion of placings to city parasites who depress the share price for months afterwards with their quick buck selling.
Bring back rights issues to reward loyal shareholders who will not sell asap

Very odd. Makes no sense at all below a £1.

Well, I don't see how they would get a placing away as there is no possibility that QPP are going to stump up any cold hard cash and they own circa 25% of the business.
Until the implied overhang created by the QPP stake is resolved the share price is going to be held back which I imagine is very frustrating for the management of NARS as well as the shareholders!

A placing at 60p to raise money for acquisitions would be ludicrous, a bad example of management empire building. I would hope that Harwood Capital would put an end to it immediately, the time to look at that would be when the share are showing some signs of strength, above £1 perhaps.

What was the share price when the institutions sold out to QPP last September ?

Are those same guys likely to be on the list of placees ?

Above comment, presumably the reason for the '4' was because QPP was in a distressed state, they may well go for a discount, however NARS is doing well so I assume the stake will not sold except for the right price!

The reason why I have not invested is due to an article I read in the FT a couple of months ago where it was alluded that QPPs stake in NARS was tentatively being offered around the city and that one unnamed broker had suggested that a sale price would need to start with a 4! clearly their view was that if QPP was a distressed seller they were going to pay bottom dollar.
I don't think that things are as bad as that but equally it is clear that big stakes pretty much always change hands for a discount to the current share price
Hopefully this QPP "overhang" situation should resolve itself in the next few months and leave NARS clear to re-rate.

This share still in bargain territory. Could be on for a record year. I think the best net they made was about 7.9m with a share price at the time of well over 100p
Cash position looks much better than forecast and they are growing again after a stagnant period in the last two years where they closed unprofitable sites. Should this go anything close to 70p again, I'll buy some more. All imo

anyone have a clue as to the level of profit that management expected?
