Ah yes, was going to look into that, have not as yet. I do not know if Big Charts cover Plus Markets stocks........I think they do not as yet, which makes including EUSP rather difficult.

MARIANA RESOURCES (MARL) had the bad luck of being a resource company listed on AIM on the exact day that the resource sector hit the buffers – 15/05/2006.

Not surprisingly the share price has been under the water ever since – listed through Haywood Secs @ 20p, the stock has drifted remorselessly on low volume ever since. It now stands @ 13p for a Mkt Cap of just £4.6m. End Dec'06 Cash in the B/s = c.£3m.

The Mariana portfolio includes joint ventures with IAMGOLD Corporation in Argentina & Ecuador; and with Anglo-American in Chile. Targets are mostly epithermal gold deposits but one of the Anglo American joint venture properties has significant porphyry copper potential. All prospects are in highly prospective mineral belts.

Poorly funded AIM-listed resource stocks without big-hit partners will find it difficult to refinance in 2007; but well-financed companies with interesting prospects and Industry credibility deserve a place on trader's watch-lists. MARL is one such. Whether it makes a 10-bagger is a prospect I suspect even the Directors don't know; but I believe there were high hopes for this one when it listed and I am hopeful that in 2007 this almost totally unknown stock will begin to ring a few bells. A useful lock-away with very little downside and most significant upside.

Thanks PP; CLEVER STUFF!

But I see that my pick - Europe Steel (EUSP on PLUS) - hasn't been picked up.
Any chance of getting the PLUS (FORMERLY OFEX of course) quotes?

Cheers.

Try Europe Steel (EUSP) for this year's 10 bagger. Currently 18p.

Hidden away on PLUS (formerly OFEX of course) this is a micro cap (£2.4M) but has over £1.1M in cash on the balance sheet as at 30/6/06. That will have increased since from very bouyant trading (more later).

NCA including that cash total £1.5M; there is no borrowing at all.

Share are tightly held with various private investors and investment cos; Global Natural Energy held 36 % until last month when they sold it to two russian linked investment co's. to concentrate on their core petrol station business. They sold out at 20p.

Profitable business; a current trading update on 8th December 06 confirmed that business is booming, with the profits earned in 11 months of 06 year "comfortably exceeded the 05 full year figure".

Current PER is about 3; prospective for 07 is 2; strip out cash and figures fall to 1.5 and 1 respectively.

I hold. DYOR but this looks the cheapest listed stock on LSE. All info in public domain - no ramp.

I would certainly have Ambrian Partners (AMBR) on my 2007 list. It will not be a 10 bagger but might rise x3. It's very undervalued at present and is making big progress in banking/broking/instititional placing for smaller mining and oil shares. It also runs the Golden Prospect investment trust and Minesite. Price now about 56p, by year end hopefully around 150p
Good Hunting to all in 2007!

Happy new year to everyone!

A very interesting thread, I for one will be speculating on a few of these companies.... already have taken a dip into BGT ;-)

I also like LED and NCS so will probably dabble with these soon!!!

I will be giving this trading thingy a go again, after 2.5 years away.... lets hope I have learnt my lesson from the last time :-(

Best wishes to all here.....

Maybe PEC2004 could update the header with the top lists, might make it easier to track the recommendations.

Some more info found over the weekend to add to my earlier post on IIR james 2 - 30 Dec'06 - 21:03 - 34 of 87 edit

The SE Asia & UK small cap expansion + acquisitions are all additional to my previous post and make it a VERY strong contender to 10 bag in 2007 imo.

james 2 - 1 Jan'07 - 10:55 - 664 of 665 edit

Happy new year all, not sure they update specifically every other month ham but this year will see a flurry of newsflow imo.

The latest position being recruited for is a FT CFO, the current incumbent is only PT and cannot give anymore time. Obviously with the growth of the company a FT CFO is a must.

As part of the search for a replacement the position has been posted, but with detailed write up of the prospects for the company in the coming year. Key points & my opinion below + link.

- As we know organic growth is driving the improved forecasts from Insinger [contracted business only] + we have a very strong pipeline, but IIR are also looking for acquisitions in the research space a fragmented industry in which the group is positioning itself as a consolidator. Acquisitions were mentioned previously in the finals, any deals would be all paper & from memory 22m shares were authorised for this in the last AGM.

Any acquisitions would be earnings enhancing per the finals & a recent answear to a Q I posed to Mr S, not only would this scale the business quicker presumably the shares would be taken up by institutions giving the share more liquidity & a stronger investor base. I see this as very positive and will help the share price appreciate giving a more realistic valuation in the market.

- Organic growth is expected to expand the Group from the current 60, to around 200 staff during the year. This demonstrates the level of organic growth we will see - a greater than 3 fold increase in staff will convert to a > 3 fold increase in research coverage imo.

- The Group is expected to add operations in SE Asia during the year. Again eluded to on the past I think in the last finals, nothing included in the forecasts from Insinger & a very fast growing market to get into.

- IIR will be moving to new offices in the new year near London bridge, presumably as the business grows they need more staff [see my previous postings of staff being recruited] + they are contemplating a number of additional appointments - General Counsel and Compliance Officer; and Head of UK Small-Cap Research. The latter of the two gives a clue that the move into UK research will be sooner rather than later, nothing included in forecasts.

Cheers PP - a very useful monitoring tool for the next 12 months.

One small point - you've missed out my BPRG selection and you've duplicated LED in the first General chart and then again in 2/3.

Transense Technologies TRT.Will deliver first revenue streams shortly. Absolutley enormous tecnonlogy spread across automotive industry. Sensors will be used from Tyre pressure monitoring to engine checking by individual piston. Only Major licencees including Michelin, Honeywell and Lear corp. Company has also just announced licence extension for Honeywell to cover non-automotive applications. Company cash burn is minimal with licencees taking all the burden of product manufacture.

Biggest attraction is that revenues will go back to shareholders via dividends that should be significant when compared to current share price Company valued appr 7 times current value several years ago just on hope. Reality however, dictated the story would take much longer to unfold than first thought. That time has now come.

A ten bagger in a year well that's a tough call but maybe a thirty or forty bagger in six years, how's that.
