17/9/2004 09:34 | People were paying 19p pre cancellation which means at least 28p now to break even! I'm surprised this hasn't been marked up immediately. I bought yesterday at 20.5p | jimbill
17/9/2004 09:18 | That was quick. Price shoots up while I was typing previous post! Others thinking the same? | jimbill
17/9/2004 09:17 | The co. is now market cap. of 7 mill (at 21p) with a t/o of 9mill rising. Theyve given the cash back because they dont need it for trading anymore ie: they arent losing cash anymore. Therefore I would suggest short term val. of 30p is most likely = market cap. of 10mill. Whose knows going forward!! IMHO. | jimbill
16/9/2004 21:30 | when they have a serious money making product Ill buy shares, when I said.............no sooner | adp
16/9/2004 20:58 | well i have 50k of these ,and if they needed the dosh then they would not be giving it back ,so for what it is worth ,i think an mbo is very close,as they can see this is now just about to get airbourne . i will be buying as sson as i can . whatch out for the 50k t trades! | gripfit
16/9/2004 20:17 | So I should receive a cheque soon then? And I will have a different number of shares but worth the same 18/20p each. If I have 10,000 shares then I had £1800 invested, I should receive 73% of this in cash (cheque) £1,314? I would then hold 2700 shares worth £486. (or £540 now as the price went up to 20p today) so Whatever! But how does this change the value of the company from £0.750m to £15m surely the cash in the bank would have been part of the valuation anyway (?????) I'm with Sandbank on this point that they should have used £19m to improve the profits or maybe buy a competitor or supplier. | majic
16/9/2004 15:08 | Cancellation of Shares and Share Premium Account With reference to the announcement on 18th August 2004, Music Choice Europe plc today confirms that on 15th September 2004 the Court approved the cancellation of 73% of each shareholder's holding at the close of business on 14th September 2004 and the cancellation of the Company's share premium account. The cancellation became effective on 16th September 2004. Contrary to the statement on 18th August 2004, shares of Music Choice were not suspended on 15th September 2004. Cancellation of the listing of 89,716,348 of ordinary 1p shares of the Company, which is listed on the Official List and is traded on the London Stock Exchange will occur on the release of this announcement. Therefore the issued share capital is currently 33,182,912 ordinary 1p shares in the Company which will remain listed on the Official List and traded on the London Stock Exchange. ....Well that's all perfectly clear then! | sandbank
11/9/2004 23:19 | I think selling is the best policy here. The share is wallowing with no sense of direction. The management of the company is clearly useless How stupid can a bunch of directors be not to be able to use £19m constructively and positively to grow the business and the profits? Better out than in IMHO | sandbank
26/8/2004 20:26 | Yep, I know that tune Hooya... a dark dance classic, could never work out how to dance to it when out clubbing tho! As I was too young at the time to fully appreciate some of the quality tunes of the 80's, I decided to do a bit of homework to find out what I have been missing. I came up with the following tunes which really stand out for me. Stevie Nicks - Stand Back Kim Carnes - Betty Davis Eyes Til Tuesday - Voices Carry Christopher Cross - Sailing Soft cell - Say hello wave goodbye (was recently covered by David Grey) Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love Ok, so some of them might not be from the 80's. If anyone reading this has similar taste, I would appreciate some suggestions on artists/songs to explore. | mattgordon
26/8/2004 14:21 | right....just want to share the fact that I am listening to great 90s classic (in my mind)...that has to go down as one of the best. btw If anyone knows where I can get a copy of Retrospective of House 91-95 Vol 1 let me know. I have seen a few on ebay. Mine got stolen about 6 years ago and thanks to the wonders of the internet I was trying to downlaod all the tracks from that album. Impossible task to be honest most tracks werent even availiable in cd format at time of release. Anyway I did download this one hence my post "PLASTIC DREAMS"- JAYDEE What a chooooooooooooon!!!! can't copy sample but its in Cream Classics ; they have a smaple on the hmv website. | hooya
04/8/2004 08:57 | JUDE'S ROLE NO REAL JOY Jude Law is reported to have signed a deal to take on the role of tragic Joy Division singer Ian Curtis. The role is an unusual one for the British actor, who had recent big screen success in the American Civil War film Cold Mountain. The film has been backed by Hollywood and is apparently based on the book by Curtis' widow, Deborah. Curtis committed suicide in 1980 when he was only 23 years old. He is remembered as one of the UK's most troubled and talented musicians. The surviving members of the band went on to form New Order. Their classic hit Blue Monday was inspired by Curtis' suicide. Bass guitarist Peter Hook said Law was "not a bad choice". But he said he would have preferred to have seen Sean Harris reprise his role for the biopic, having played Curtis in 24 Hour Party People. | hooya
04/8/2004 08:16 | good thing is we are in a different era now and most of the fans that will listen to Kasabian won't even own a Primal or Stones CD(might not even know who they were) so they will be judged on their own. Quidz....have you see then live ? Ive only just really discovered them. Surpriced Club foot only went to no 27 earlier in the year...reckon the album will be top 5 | hooya

28/7/2004 12:22 | Thanks everyone for your contributions to the discussions as to whether I should sell or not. It seems that there are various ideas about the price after the share reduction. Since the company is doing well and may continue to do so I will hang on and see what happens. If I sold now my profit would only be small anyway. | boppo
16/7/2004 17:46 | I take the view that the news of the share cancellation is already factored in the price. Therefore, logically I can't see why there would be any significant change to total shareholder value immediately following the share cancellation. Hence the calculation that the post cancellation price will be approximately:- (Pre cancellation price - 0.73 * 16.75) / 0.27 Which means about 21.4p based on the current bid price of 18p. 45.5p therefore seems optimistic. In any case, remember any price gain will only be on 27% of your current holding, so a post cancellation price of 45.5p is only the equivalent of 24.5p pre cancellation. | typo56 |
