Intellectual Property Firm Murgitroyd Launches UK Innovation Competition

Murgitroyd (LSE:MUR), the global intellectual property (IP) attorney firm, headquartered in Glasgow, has announced the launch of a new Facebook platform for entrepreneurs titled "Innovator Launchpad" and, alongside it, an innovation competition called the "Innovator Launchpad Award" offering a £7,500 prize to pre-profit businesses or charitable organisations based in the UK who can show that they have created a solution to a business or social problem that is groundbreaking in its field.

The Facebook platform will create a space for innovators and entrepreneurs to share advice and information with their peers, and to access contacts and educational resources that will help them in their innovative journey. The Award aims to give entrepreneurs material support in growing their business ventures, with the first prize being made up of £5,000 cash, £2,500 in IP services and a PR package. Second and third will win £1,000 in IP services.

Murgitroyd's European Marketing Manager, Fiona McKenzie, said: "There's really no reason not to enter if you meet the competition criteria - for the time it takes to write a 300-500 summary of your solution to a problem, you could win a sizeable injection of cash for your business - and also have fun along the way interacting with other innovators on the platform!".

The final three will be judged by an expert panel including Dr Olga Kozlova, founder of the Scotland-based Converge Challenge business planning competition.
