23/9/2014 21:49 | So long as the cash remains within, you'll have the triple advantage of: a) predictable dividends; b) a cushion in the event of any consumer downturn; c) the prospect of a bid; Remove the dosh, and each disappear. | coolen
23/9/2014 14:39 | he must have a holding or got a good discount on a suit! | luckymouse
23/9/2014 11:23 | Tipped by Simon Thompson online IC again today. ...p | pcourt
22/9/2014 19:09 | I think this is complicated by the amount of cash in the company. This could be distributed as dividend now and the price of the share would come down to somewhere in the mid 60's region. The projected EPS would not change and as the company appears to be cash generative a large portion of this could be paid out as dividend. Obviously no longer 5.2p per share but I have a note of a forecast of EPS of 4.3p per share for 2015/16 and a large part of this could be paid as dividend. The yield would not then reduce from what it is at present and the dividend would be fully covered. I guess the higher forecasts take into account the projected growth of the company over the next two to three years. The business seems to be progressing and as I said I am comfortable with this but others may have a different view. | salchow
22/9/2014 17:31 | speedsgh - yes quite right - some will invest in high yielders regardless of valuation - and ST does have a significant following. It goes to show how incredibly 'media driven' the market really is. Ive been down on this since it peaked - everything looked quite toppy. Still am to be honest if you read my previous posts - but I also believe in being professional & accurate (a rare thing on BBs where everyone is usually just trying to cheer on their horse :) My question re valuation was sincere - if anyone has a valuation model that mathematically explains WH Ireland's 140p target I am happy to run over the numbers. Good hunting ATB LM | luckymouse
22/9/2014 15:36 | LM - Simon Thompson (Investors Chronicle) has been championing MOSB for some time + the attractive dividend yield has doubtless been drawing some in even if part of it appears to be being paid out of cash reserves. The yield is quite attractive at the current level (5.5% based on forecast 5.20p against current offer of 94.25p) but I can't quite get comfortable with it. Think I will have to leave it. Upside does not sufficiently outweigh the downside for me. You can't be in them all i suppose. GLTA | speedsgh
22/9/2014 15:29 | Half Yearly Report - | speedsgh
19/9/2014 15:14 | Well I concede there is a technical support area around 90p - just don't understand how on earth it got to 120p in the first place - unless its been ramped in the share mags etc. Re valuation lets see what the results are - they may bring some revisions & clarification | luckymouse
19/9/2014 13:57 | Yes, but you have to take a view on where the company is going. It seems to be developing in various areas and I am very comfortable with it. The dividend increase has been accelerated due to the very large cash held, presumably with a view to profits catching up with it in a couple of years. The price probably got ahead of itself at over 120p but I would hope that the significant fall would now lead to consolidation at clear support in the 90p area. | salchow
19/9/2014 11:52 | Which would probably explain the trend strength: www.barchart.com/sna | luckymouse
19/9/2014 11:43 | Right - seeing as DL are sh*te I have calculated by hand (quick n dirty method) - with a surprising result: Avg PE(Last 24.6, FY1 28.33, FY2 21.74, GenRetail 17.61, *AllSmall 24.03)= 23.26 23.26 * 3.3 = 76.76p JAN15 23.26 * 4.3 = 100.03p JAN16 *Fledgling has an insane PE of 79.60 and All Small ex inv co is 17.68 a bit low for higher small cap PEs so I took the All Small as in the middle So its still over valued! | luckymouse
19/9/2014 10:56 | I phoned up DL - the service is shocking - but they will look into it (don't hold your breath) 4-traders have: 3,30 4,30 | luckymouse
19/9/2014 10:38 | Well the FT.com figures are more in line with the Peel Hunt estimates. I can only assume there is an error with DL - perhaps half year estimates shown in error? The way the company have been talking it seems inconceivable that the results would be as bad as those indicated by DL | salchow
19/9/2014 10:24 | FT.com have EPS estimates as: 2015 3.4 2016 4.1 DL have EPS estimates as: 2015 1.65 2016 2.15 | luckymouse
18/9/2014 19:27 | Ha - yes 8% would be lovely! You can get that with GVC & BKG I believe | luckymouse
18/9/2014 18:52 | OK Lucky Mouse, I noticed your original message and thought you were commenting on the last accounts that showed a very good uplift in most figures. It is true that the current year is not forecast to be significantly better although all comments from the company are positive. We may have to wait until next year before substantial improvement but this seems to be coming from a variety sources. In the meantime the forecast dividend for this year is 5.2p payable out of the substantial cash resources and if the price were only 60p this would be a yield of 8.66% which would lead to a very substantial further investment on my part! I expect that I will not have the opportunity! | salchow
18/9/2014 17:49 | re 01.07.14 - negative EPS, flat PBT - are you looking at the right stock? DYOR! | salchow
18/9/2014 16:04 | I confess im still mystified by this stock - my spread sheet is valuing at 60p? How are other people calculating fair value? | luckymouse |
