At 1.5p this might look attractive [if they drop that low] .Strange that a guy of 70 should buy 45k of shares in a company with assets of 174k unless he has definite plans for it?.No debt, only 10m shares in the company so could easily issue more to raise capital.A cheap way of getting a quote on LSE for someone? Certainly one to put on my radar for a while .ps I am retired so not being disrespectfull about guy of 70.

Well a new dawn rises, I would like to think that this is the new Tanfield or Transense Technology. Oh please let it be. On the other hand it could be an LLG.

I don't think this lot could have done any worse, if they had Responsible Lad and the Knowing managing their investments... £1.14mln of shareholder funds reduced to only £174k What a shambles! Rgds dell All IMHO, DYOR etc.

tonyx - Read the previous RNS, and his buy must have been linked to the even larger director sell by Amir Deen and Nicholas Richardson, who dumped their entire holdings at 4p(approx 25% of the company). I believe WINS also took a couple of small sells at 5p at around the same time, if you look back at the trades and MM moves. Rgds dell All IMHO, DYOR etc.

Down to 4p tomorrow or marked up due to the fact that he bought such a large amount?? Marked down me thinks. Thanks, ST

Large director buy @ 4p? How on earth did he get them at that price?! Lol! His buy looks like part of a 2m "B" trade on 18/2.

Q: When do marketmakers not mark a share down on bad news? A: When they have a massive quantity of stock and don't want to spook the market.. LOL! Rgds dell DYOR, IMHO etc.

Think this one could well drift down further - say 5 - 6p, as the interim statement gives no growth or prospects at all, it all sounds rather grim.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for it. I also recall some legal action being taken against one of the MQE directors. Think I read it in the Maisha(?) results

HughPants - I agree, after the interim results report it sounds bad. What happened to the electric bike investment in which they were suspose to have a 50% share making x number per year at £600 each?

Consultancy work has dropped off to practically nothing(showing massive declines every six months), so they now look like nothing more than an overvalued investment company. Interims only have a partial provision against Hemisphere, so there is presumably a large drop in NAV to come... What is the attraction of acquiring an IFA? Most of the listed ones have been total sh*te IMO. It would have been easy to be duped by previous results with this one, so commiserations to holders... Rgds dell all imo, dyor

INTERIM RESULTS TODAY 16/12/2004 - NOT GOOD. Drop due today 16th December due to interim results being announced. Company now holds only £70k in cash instead of £430k last year, and prospects one could say look poor. One to watch, but at present to avoid.

Charmer1_23 - thanks for the info - it is not all going pear shape though is it? I have been watching this share since it was 33p - a good job I didn't buy then, as today it is 12.5p. Thats a 62% fall yet if Hemisphere Properties was only 25% of MQE holdings why the 25% fall? And what happened to that electric bike company, I thought turnover on that was £10m a year and MQE had 50%? Down another 22% today though, so what next - a recovery? And as HughPants reminds us the directors bought in at over 40p in June. If they can get it wrong what chance do us prospective shareholders have? Check out the article in the IC about 3 months ago - re electric bikes - when the share price was 33p, makes good reading - now a black cloud has come from nowhere. Must be worth watching even a splash in the water.

You have to laugh at the directors buying in at nearly 50p. Doesn't give much confidence that these guys can identify value when they see it!

MQE seem to hold 3m HPE shares bought in the initial HPE placing at what might have been 6.5p. MQE shareholding in HPE. This would equate to an investment cost of £195k, although the trading statement suggests £250-300k.

RNS Number:3967G Mosaique PLC 14 December 2004 Mosaique plc Trading statement The Board of Mosaique plc ("Mosaique") notes the recent fall in its share price. Whilst not certain as to the reason for the fall, the Board believes that this may be connected to the fact that Mosaique has an investment in Hemisphere Properties plc ("Hemisphere") which announced on 13 December 2004 that its shares were being suspended on AIM pending clarification of its financial position. The investment in Hemisphere represents approximately 25% of Mosaique's net assets stated in its Balance Sheet as at 31 March 2004. The Board awaits further news from Hemisphere. As and when this is available a further announcement will be made. This information is provided by RNS The company news service from the London Stock Exchange END TSTEASALFDDLFFE

Capitalised now at £1.5m. What about of the investment of 51% of Powabyke? The IC implied that annual sales would be substantial, since then the price has fallen from 33p to 19p after the directors bought at a much higher price in June. The graph does not look good however, but maybe this has now bottomed out.

The accounts dont even tell us what the 700K of investments comprise. Last time I tried you could buy about 30K online.

What date was the RNS? I would have thought that proceeds from a sale of shares would be stated as profit or loss on disposal. As they own 51% of Powabyke they may now need to consolidate the accounts which may have caused a delay. MQE can only lose another 18p now, but if there are no problems it could go back up like a rocket.

HugePants - The write up in the IC about 3 months ago looked very encouraging, especially with the electric bike firm - which I believed it said it had a 50% in and the number of bikes per year at whatever they cost being sold appeared to be quite impressive. I also believe that the results last year did include activity on investment sales - an exceptional items in effect. I was surprised to be told by my investment man that the price had fallen from 33p to 20p and now a further 19% today. He did say that one cant buy any more than 500 a time. True or false I haven't tried. It is on my radar screen at present.

Skyracer, I agree the mark down may be on very low volume. Do you know if the circa 350K income from other operating activities come from the sale of an I2S stake? I looked back at previous RNS's and there is a Rule 8 release regarding I2S. Nothing else though so Im just speculating. I dont understand why the accounts are so opaque.
