What a fantastic buy this is proving to be. Only dilemma now is whether to profit take or hold. Would hate to sell out too soon.

Talk about ramping, it's the same at Bodycote, the way they are performing this week you'd think they were climbing into bed with each other!

Questor says BUY

The company makes materials and ceramics that are used in a wide variety of applications. Its major markets are defence and aerospace.

Although it has been a difficult year for the industry and profits slid 63pc, the group's focus on cost-cutting has boosted cash generation and prompted a larger-than-expected fall in net debt.

This fall in borrowings – which were reduced by £37.7m to £252.7m over the year is significant.

Some in the City had believed that a rights issue was on the cards to reduce gearing, but these fears are now likely to ease. Especially since the full-year dividend was maintained at 7p. This means the shares are yielding a pretty respectable 4.1pc.

If management were contemplating a rights issue, it is administratively burdensome to pay shareholders a dividend with one hand then ask for money in cash call with the other. Questor would therefore be surprised if Morgan tapped investors for funds.

The shares are trading on a December 2010 earnings multiple of 10.6 times, falling to 8.1 next year. They were recommended at 128¾p on August 2 last year and they are up 32pc compared with a market up 15pc. Buy.

Briliant rise today of 9.91% finishing at 186.3. Buyers confident to invest in this well run company. I continue to hold as a mid to long term investment. Well placed to benefit from recovery.

I'm holding, but just hope they get to see the fruits of their labour.

I'm fairly convinced they'll get taken over at some point, but let's hope they don't and just carry on doing as well as they are.

Still no interest here then. Results seem to have been taken well though :)

Mark Robertshaw, chief executive of Morgan Crucible, is pushing a simple message to the City today: "We are a completely different business." With the final dividend maintained at 4.5p, giving 7p for the year, the closing price last night of 169½p yields an attractive 4.2 per cent. Engineering businesses are geared well for a global recovery and well-run companies more so. Continue to add says the Times.

The shares trade at a shade under 12 times 2010 earnings and could enjoy a re-rating once sales growth kicks in. That might not be as far away as the sceptics think. Buy says the Independent.

HSBC has reviewed the mid-cap cyclical stocks. Upgrades Morgan Crucible to overweight from neutral with a price target of 200p and Weir Group to neutral from underweight with an 80p a share price target. Charter and Bodycote have been downgraded - each to underweight from neutral with a price target of 600p and 160p respectively.

Quiet board this. Surprising as it's a well rated share according to the broker forecasts TDW are showing. I would have thought there'd be more interest :-

I've been tracking this company for a year now, strong management, good operating margins, good yield and good recovery play in diverse market segments. 220.00p seems fair in, especially considering P/E ratios in the sector. Fill your boots, if only for the income if your in for the medium term.

shorted a few today as well...bit squeezy and volume doesn't support the move imo.but might just push on again as there seems to be a distinct lack of mid cap sellers during the holiday.

The rise was a bit too fast, i think a pullback is likely. Short.
