I would also be interested where you got your figures from MRF.

Average prices increased by 13.5%, which chairman Eric Gadsden said was the first increase for six years. He also said that a generational oversupply of bricks had come to an end and the market was now reliant on increasing levels of imports.

“The current environment brings a new set of challenges with our stocks, and industry stocks, at an all-time low,” he said. “Bricks are no longer immediately available on demand.”

Short term I would be BUT where have you got your figures from please?

This is a punting stock and a take-over target so I am a buyer at some point especially bearish news.

Moving as the Base Rate is cut and the market takes it as builders will want more bricks...........and so you can go on and on..........

The business is profitable and cash generative and supported by a strong and long-term asset base.

Never call a bottom...........nevertheless I have just paid 52.5p for a few more and at these levels I shall keep on topping up as I like the product (I use it) like the assets and the cash flow/balance sheet and with a 21% holder in the background there may even be some consolidation in the brick world.

Its an approximation old chap...

Equity / Diluted Shares in Issue - I also strip out intangibles etc.

Just a tweak on my own metrics - each to their own and all that.

They don't make land anymore.............

I have been in the house construction industry for over 40 years and what is happening today is another blip........ask Mr Pidley who sold a few of his developments last year and look at his balance sheet today......what a buy for the next few years..........then look at good house builders who use MBH bricks as they will be used today and for years to come until the pits run out of raw material........

Sorry but you are wrong medium term but right to be afraid short term - that is if you are a shareholder? ARE YOU?

I am sitting on my hands and will turn a buyer sooner rather than later.

Lol I remember when this was sub 20 pence and it wasn't to long ago! Anyone who is going to be building stuff in the next few years wont be doing it with expensive designer bricks and their main market comercial property is toast. It will be a good few years before that sector may pick up. As for there land bank pipeline also looks like toast.

Don't agree. The selling of all housebuilder type stocks is overdone in my opinion.
