The 2nd of my "tips" of shares to halve this year is dear Graphene Nanochem, GRPH. It is getting there, albeit a little slower than I expected. Frankly, I doubt it will be in business for any longer than 2017 has all the hallmarks of trading while insolvent, is based for all intents and purposes in Malaysia, has spewed out RNS that seem to imply tremendous good news, yet miraculously it does not actually translate into meaningful cash. Turnover has fallen roughly 90%, a winding up order was presented during the 5+ months while the shares were suspended and there is no evidence whatever that the company has managers capable of running a noodle bar at the helm, let alone a public company.

The problem is, Effortless Cool, that by nature those with a penchant for investment tend to be more comfortable with winners rather than losers. Consequently where it is discovered that during any research that things don't really sit well, we tend not to bother with any more research. I have picked 3 of those in which I have in the past held investment in anticipation of a rise in the share price. And those are 3 hearty contenders that I believe simply will not survive. They also deserve to fail, tbh. Yes, I have had plenty of losers in my portfolio not just last year, but in the many decades before. Consistently, the winners outweighed the losers in the long run. Blur, I believe will have a round of fundraising in the next 3 months - it will still fail but any money raised will simply delay the inevitable IMO. The fundamental business model is wrong, out dated, and meaningless. The market that the company is trying to exploit closed at least 3 years ago and was in the process of closing in the year before that.

Come on, there must be more than seven duffers out there to nominate. Only eight hours forty minutes to go.

So many choices CBUY AERO FBT MTR PROX I will go for Paul Johnson MTR as he had reverse 100 bagger with ECR so just a reverse bag of halving is easy for him given his incompetence

Thanks, EJ. I have taken BLUR as your first choice, but let me know if you would prefer one of the others.

Love this thread. INSP for me, Should never have been listed. No product, just a load of hot air about best in class, gamechanger, disruptive technology. Placing upon placing, waffle followed by many months of silence. Company strategy is to keep the plates spinning. More fundraising (dilution) to come in 2017. Completely uninvestible and almost certain to be bust by next xmas!

Sports Direct, SPD for me please. Share price has been on a downward spiral for some time now and I can't really see any immediate reason for that trend to change. Whether or not the share price will actually half in 2017 is questionable.:-)

No need to apologise! Looks a good call, reading through the chat on the CTAG thread today.

Sorry but CTAG is my choice. Secretive BoD with no apparent business plan or proven product, Very complicated funding in desperation. Seems only buyers are PI's. Also on TW fail list. NOMAD has to watch carefully as Co keeps having to re-issue correcting RNS's.

My pick is (Koovs) KOOV. This is a fashion business focussed on the Indian e-commerce market. Although it is fast-growing (+114% from 2016 H1 to 2017 H1), it is achieving this growth on a negative gross margin of over 20%. That means that KOOV is spending 20% more on making, marketing and distributing its clothes than it gets back from selling them. This is, by far, the worst business model that I have ever seen. Adding to the bear case here is the fact that the main KOOV thread on ADVFN is extremely active, attracts a very poor calibre of poster and negative views are actively and arbitrarily censored. http://uk.advfn.com/cmn/fbb/thread.php3?id=35586133 The bear thread presents an uncensored alternative. http://uk.advfn.com/cmn/fbb/thread.php3?id=35583503

Taking inspiration from the "shares to double" thread, here's one to nominate your shares to half in 2017. PLEASE provide some detail as to why the stock is likely to half, reasoning etc. You don't have to post a lot, just enough to give the reader a reason to take a deeper look with a few sentences at least. Do that and you might interest more investors to a stock that's overvalued. Picks from any sector, including oilers and miners are welcome. Results to be based on change in mid-price at close 31 Dec 2016 to mid-price at close 31 Dec 2017. KOOV ... Effortless Cool ... 44.75p CTAG ... PJ 1 ... 9.25p MPL ... diku ... 9.25p SPD ...doodlebug4 ... 278.6p INSP ... Mach100 ... 0.165p BLUR ... Erogenous Jones ... 13.5p MTR ... The Stigologist ... 1.45p Nominations close @ 07:00 on 2 January 2017
