Continuing to trade whilst halted in Oz is nothing short of criminal. Someone is continually offloading big chunks into the rise which is pretty tell-tale in itself.

Price sensitive information is exactly that so it should not make any difference what side of the pond it is....

Investors are seeing copper as a long term bet, and my guess is that it's highly likely a deal will have been struck for the right price.

Metminco shares rocket in London as Los Calatos negotiations take place

Metminco Ltd (LON:MNC, ASX: MNC) shares soared in London as a trading halt was requested in Australia as it emerged there were negotiations concerning its Los Calatos copper project in Peru.

The firm has become aware .."that price sensitive information concerning advanced, but incomplete, negotiations regarding the Los Calatos Partnership Process (announced 21 October 2015) may be in the public domain," it said in a brief statement.

Shares will continue on AIM and the ASXC trading halt will end no later than June 14, it said, when it expects to "advise the outcome of these Los Calatos Partnership Process negotiations" but added there could be no guarantee the negotiations will be successful.

Last October, the mining firm hired an advisor to assist is partnering process for the Los Calatos copper mine development.

The property hosts a large copper resource and is designated as a “project of national interest” for Peru, and a strategic mining study had determined an initial capital expenditure requirement of US$655mln.

LinQ Group, a Perth based advisor, was brought into the process to help Metminco identify and evaluate he most suitable partners for the project.

Shares in London rocketed 34.86% to 0.250p on Friday.
