Am I getting it wrong? on current share price for 1 share adding in £11.40 for 12 more under the rights and dividing by 13 the cost ps is 99pps but the dilutive effect will be ? I have a recollection it was advised initially that post-completion the price would be around £1.32,

On the 5th July, the day before the Nortek acquisition was announced,Melrose closed at 410p.Now,the stock in old money, stands at over 860p...(that's taking a current nil paid bid price of 59p miti 1000).One can only assume that the management are convincing institutions of what a fantastic deal this is.

Redburn suggest an upside to c240p if Melrose achieve improvements in Nortek's margins.

I haven't commented much recently on this board, as I've been too busy repeatedly counting my money. Every time I count it, it seems to go up.

While many will have re-invested in the new Melrose venture, I expect others will be sitting on some spare cash.

To get back on my usual track again, I have 2 recommendations for any spare cash. Melrose and GKN.

But do invest wisely, and remember my 2 key rules of thumb.
(1) Don't be greedy, a gross excess should be quite sufficient for anybody.
(2) Put all your eggs in one basket, proven to be a very sound basket of course.

Recovering after initial sell-off.
Looks good for bettering pre-rights and good gearing on the Nil Paid if anyone trading these.

Well.pedantically perhaps I took a close of 45 BID which roughly (with one ordinary)equated to around 685p.I always use a bid price when evaluating worth not the offer or even a mid price, only the price I know I can realise in the market.Even if you took today's price nil paid price of 47p and added one ord, you'd only get back to 705p against a year's high of near £8 on Monday.

steeplejack ,please explain your £6.85..At the close, I believe, a shareholder has 1 share at 1.41 and 12 rights(0.485) worth in total £7.23.

For what it's worth, the shares have given back near all of the 100p odd rise we saw yesterday as the stock falls back to an old price equivalent of around 685p.

They've just gone ex-rights. They're not significantly better or worse to buy today than they were yesterday. Yesterday they came with the right to buy another 12 shares at 95p. Today they don't.
