17/4/2007 14:55 | hi i've been holding a fair chunk of MEA for just over a year, i missed the peaks quite a few times. its even hard to 'sell' low qty shares, so my chunk had to be dealt with directly with dealer. i note this share has very low volume passing and tends to flatline. i do know this company is very good, good prospects etc, i even know Tony Gatehouse, and i've met him few times, since he's based in Torrevieja, Spain. On our latest peak i got out right at the top and can now buy back much cheaper, and this is what happens everytime with this one. After the results and no news, it starts drifting down, and then suddenly spikes with positive rns. Now i have learnt to sell off the spike, because it always comes back down. I may come back in but not just yet. This is a great company with good prospects, BUT when i missed the last few spikes, i too thought it'd go up to 30/40/50 etc. It probably will within a year or two. | pujababy
16/4/2007 16:18 | Indeed, good post Giddy. Certainly no impatience from me. Getting a bit worried about the now expected May correction overall, however not concerned with this one. Like MT I think your posting looks pretty good. I suppose my concerns lie more with the wider macro economic scene of overpriced houses, equity release and the world economy generally. Sadly I was only 7 when said album came out, so not really my era. Even more sadly I return once more to the world of employment on Tuesday next so contributions likely to be limited once more. My taste in music very eclectic PS - have a look at FAN, picked up a few recently, look worth a punt. No advice intended. Sorry for O/T all | redm1re
16/4/2007 10:29 | Good post giddygoat but both redm1re and myself are new holders, no impatience from either I believe. Redm1re, you don't know Paul Simon then, more a long haired metal man. It's just some folks seem to finmd the current price is their ceiling and selling but I hope this price to be my floor. That's all the song means, I think. From the album there goes rhymin' simon 1971. I will be more positive when I see some more good results although gg's summing up appears accurate. Both shares and IC mags rate this a recent buy, in particular IC. Maybe the ropey start to life on the market putting some people off. Certainly not me. | mistertibbs
15/4/2007 21:55 | Let me give you guys a bit of optimism, just incase you're struggling! The more detail I read the better this sounds. Ive read the 26/10/06 Trading Update then the Results issued 22/3/07 again. Reminder 1)Current year EPS 2.66, share price 16.5p Reminder 2)From Results - "In 2006, Group sales totaled 1,086 units, and we continue to perform strongly. In January and February of 2007 we sold 161 units compared to 83 in the previous year" IMO things are slotting into place for sustainable growth - the deals already reported appear to be sound and the Chairman puts some promising numbers to backup those deals. Last year we had a positive Trading Update in April, based on 1st quarter performance. Just maybe we're on for one v.soon. If we are on for say 3p-3.5p earnings this year this will certainly move into a higher trading range. Perhaps someone would check the following: Fondoso Valley investment revalued to Euro55m *13% gives us E7.15m (now 30% sold) from an investment of 785.000Euro in 2004 Residencial Argos Sol - In 26/10/06 update " consortium believe they will generate Euro35 million of profits of which approximately 10% will accrue to Medsea." Euro35m * 10% = E3.5m. This seems to have increased on results to "Our share of the development profit is likely to be in the region of Euro6 Million" I know we can find a couple of negatives, illiquid, debtors. Please let me have your views but I think holders here are merely waiting for others to catch on here. | giddygoat
13/4/2007 09:42 | I think I am missing a song lyric here mistertibbs, you might have to explain that one to me! I am probably just trying to find a bit of optimism as is my outlook. Still happy with the fundamentals Mercifully you are north of the border so unlikely to hear it down here ;-) | redm1re
13/4/2007 09:19 | Dare I sing it to you redm1re....one man's ceiling is another man's floor... | mistertibbs
12/4/2007 08:47 | Thanks all. I suppose at this price and with the vast majority already in the bag it wouldn't cost them too much to take it back private again, particularly if the market doesn't respond to improved results. Pure speculation of course but it might put some sort of floor under the price | redm1re
11/4/2007 22:58 | There were shed loads dumped at 10-20p over the last 6 months. Plus shed loads more on way down at 55p down to 25p, before te large chunk at 10-20p. Don't get too concerned with my pessimism. I just know that alot of guys bought cheap, not knowing what they were buying, and wouldn't have a clue on fundamentals. It was a bucket shop sales. | flateric
11/4/2007 20:19 | Not sure there is an overhang as such-just think this share is so illiquid that an trade either way will move the share price Here's a nice snippet from 11/2004...dont think the 412 shareholders are too impressed buying at 85p... RNS Number:9997E Medsea Estates Group PLC 09 November 2004 For immediate release 9 November 2004 MEDSEA ESTATES GROUP PLC ("Medsea" or the "Company") SHARE DEALINGS by Arc Fund Management The Company has been informed that Arc Fund Management has sold a total of 1,294,283 Medsea Ordinary Shares of 10p each (the "Shares") at 85p per share to some 412 new shareholders: Number of Shares Remaining still held: % of Company's issued share capital: Arc Fund Management 706,521 1% Contact: Medsea: Tony Gatehouse, Chairman Juan Carlos Rodriguez Martinez, Director 0034 96 570 40 02 Roland Cornish, Beaumont Cornish Limited, Nominated Advisor 020 7628 3396 | tonyx
11/4/2007 19:41 | Thanks Tonyx, I will get the matchsticks out and try wading through, though the press cutting does say 77% as you rightly point out. That is fine by me, I always like my directors minds to be concentrated by losing more than I am!! I suppose I am only now confused then by where the percieved overhang comes from? | redm1re
11/4/2007 18:48 | 35K T Buy this PM. | giddygoat
11/4/2007 18:25 | redm1re, Ive put a link to the prospectus in the header. Page 41 has the shareholdings. | tonyx
11/4/2007 18:15 | redm1re, Take a look at this link...it does say in one of the press cuttings Tony Gatehouse & his wife own 77%. | tonyx
11/4/2007 17:14 | Now this is where I wish I knew a lot more. I agree a 10% free float should mean good and quick price appreciation in the right climate, however wonder how they would have got away with only floating 10% of the company. I think I need to dig out the original prospectus. Hate reading those things, so dry!!!! And yes money best kept on hold, in fact re-invested it elsewhere yesterday, so until I take a profit somehwere it is out of bounds | redm1re
11/4/2007 13:45 | Looks like a sale of 10000 has moved the price down sunstantially. Definately strange if only 10% available. Looks like money best kept on hold redm1re. I wonder if the reason for the wide spread is down to lack of shares availablability? Surely not down to lack of mm. Says 5 at the heading | mistertibbs
11/4/2007 12:27 | redm1re I agree where is the over hang if only 10% is in the hands of pi's that normally means this could move fast if there is a bit of buying or am I wrong. | driver101
11/4/2007 12:20 | Now I will admit to being a tad confused. Doesn't this mean that about 90% of the voting rights are tied up? In which case how much of a free float is there? I am all for Directors having a meaningful stake but where does this leave Flateric's overhang? Sorry, more questions than answers at the moment. I bought my small stake on the strong fundamentals in the results, mainly the p/e ratio but not quite understanding something here. Any clues? | redm1re

11/4/2007 11:06 | -7% ? No trades | driver101
11/4/2007 08:13 | I still say that fundamentally this is a good buy. Problem is the sector/area is up and down, and there's an awful overhang out there with those that got in cheap. I won't expect high p/e multiples, but I'd expect to see some sensible growth in this current price this year (once the profit's been taken by those who want it). Just my opinion. | flateric
10/4/2007 16:04 | I wish I had, however the order did not go through. Had to ring the broker as the market size was very small. Was quoted a spread of over 2p from memory so thought better of it. Should have amended the previous entry. Sorry no intention to mislead and may well buy some more in due course. Just that the spread put me off today. Mind you will it be any different another day? | redm1re
10/4/2007 15:21 | redm1re You moved the share price | driver101
10/4/2007 13:33 | Picked up a few more this morning. Happy that we don't seem to be heading back to the pre results levels, so will keep adding a few when I can | redm1re
08/4/2007 07:41 | Problem is - the overhang. There were shed loads of this one sold by early pre-IPOers to broking houses who offloaded them to clients. All of this was done cheap over the last year, with no thought on the fundamentals. It'll take a while to get genuine growth, I'd say, unless the MMs want to pick up some cheaper stock quickly and raise it to 20p. That should pick up a lot. | flateric
06/4/2007 06:36 | Next tranche of advance starting now...? 17p to 17.5p. | flateric |
