18/7/2007 19:33 | The reason why they are low is because of Spain. How much profit come from Spain and how much from elsewhere? like Italy. And the past record does not help, but that could always change of course. They had a program on housing in Spain and people who had bought and wanted to re-sell. And there were a lot of properties out there on the market, so the only way to sell was to drop the price. Still watch and wait. | guru11
18/7/2007 19:06 | Just on my watch list thought I'd pop in and read a few of the latest comments. Had that bad news about Spain was it and better news elsewhere, worth keeping an eye on. On digitlook though the strong buy is only 1 analyst which gives a bit of a false picture, however on fundamentals MEA could easily go to 20p. But how are things really going? They appear on the face of it to be doing ok, and another latest contract as well. Results end of September - the forward rating on digitlook is - need I say more - if achieved. What is holding the share price back is the fact as said above the price was 80p. How can one in a property company loose 80% of the value since the float - this does not bide confidence unless one believes the worse is over. Big pros and cons - for bigs potential rises in share price to come. But then what about the 40% increase in sale on the Italian side ??? How much does this mean to the bottom line ?? Sentiment is definately against the stock at present when buyers return and if - it could do very well indeed. | guru11
12/7/2007 22:02 | you can read some posts going back a couple months around the last spike. even i had difficulty selling even small amounts of these, they're not very good to trade, thats the problem, and the mm's never really want them so they drop the price. see the charts, these just drop big time or rise - And everytime we get spike, they tumble within a day or two. and thats without rns's. | jamesclives
12/7/2007 20:53 | Yes it looks ridiculously cheap at these levels.Personally though i would not buy more simply because they are difficult to trade in any quantity. To be honest if they were double the price they would still look good value. | jwe
12/7/2007 20:14 | Strong Buy showing on Digital Look, anyone got the details? Last Results 31-Dec-06 2.66p EPS P/E 4.9 Current Year F/Cast 07 3.20p EPS P/E 3.2 PEG 0.2 Next Year... F/Cast 08 3.80p EPS P/E 2.7 PEG 0.1 This wiill be hard to ignore for much longer, IMO. I think the management have been making good deals in the past 12months (worth reading their RNS's again), but unfortunately those who've been in since float are still offloading faster than buyers can be found. Probabably still on my own thinking this will start to turn around from here as so many false dawns. Anyone else think this is far too cheap? | giddygoat
12/7/2007 10:48 | 80p at float | thailand
12/7/2007 09:49 | I did wonder with MEA that although we have had some bad news in one area of their business whether the other areas of their busines would not bail the poor area out. The graph does not make good reading or inspire confidence and one has to ask over the last 2 years if management has not been able to add value to the share price are they doing a good job, when one remember this has come down from 40p. | guru11

03/7/2007 07:26 | MEA are advertising for sales staff for Calabria in the local press (COsta Blanca News and Round Town News). It must still be going well there as the adverts have been running for some time. | bluenose851

29/6/2007 00:05 | Buy recommendation from HB 25/6/07 Very happy reading for all holders Bluenose - A very good article for giving a brekdown of what pies MEA are in and where sales are coming from this year Forecasts are : EPS P/E PEG 3.2p 4.4 0.2 FY Dec'07 3.8p 3.7 0.2 FY Dec'08 | giddygoat
28/6/2007 10:00 | One more point I would add. It would seem that the market that is affected most is the apartment market. Even here, because of all the press, people are thinking they can buy a villa cheap (they cant!!) and dont want the much cheaper option of an apartment. Would be interested to see how MEA's breakdown of sales is compared to last year. If we could provide villas with sea views in MOraira for 250,000 to 300,000 euros we would clean up. Clients dont realise that around here a plot of land without a sea view starts around 200,000 euros in Moraira and even the surrounding towns the plots are in excess of 150,000 euros. AFter IVA (vat) and the other assocaited expenses you have abother 12% before you even build the villa!!! | bluenose851
27/6/2007 10:48 | Giddygoat...almost regreting my very small sale after reading it. Didn't know we had a tie up with Countrywide, that was indeed news to me. Nor the fact we now have even more of a sales outlet in Calabria. I thought that was limited, now was it to 250 units per annum, an increase from last year? Memory is a wonderful thing, if you have it in good working order | mistertibbs
27/6/2007 00:16 | Good work Mister Tibbs in bringing the thread back on track with a great find on Medsea, Well worth the read. Whatever the general sentiment, Medsea, appear to do things in the right way and do great deals IMO but its always reassuring to hear it from an impartial source. | giddygoat
26/6/2007 20:56 | Back to the share and this is indeed an interesting wee article. Haven't lost my own broad Scots I'm afraid. It's still a braw bricht moonlicht nicht....looks German putting it like that. | mistertibbs
26/6/2007 12:08 | have lost most of my brummie accent though as I was a stockbroker for 13 years, not a place for a brummie accent!!! Does still come out when I have had a few though!!! | bluenose851
25/6/2007 10:44 | That would be nice. Brummy supporters very socialable lads as my experience in a Majorcan resort would suggest. A Glasgow/Birmingham night of total joy/misunderstanding each other's accent. It didn't matter, it was bloody good. | mistertibbs
25/6/2007 08:23 | Barry Fry left years ago!! Karen Brady is still there, in fact here children go to the same school as my daughters. Karen does tend to wear a lot of make up though! Birmingham are in talks with Carlson Yeung, a Hong Kong billionaire and also Mittal (twicee as rich as Abromovich!) so it will transform us. Mittal is said to want to spend 500M quid on us if he takes over....move over chelsea!! | bluenose851 |
