Not sure when Stanmore will distribute the proceeds.
Then MDY have to pay us (in a tax efficient manner)
MDY accounts due by 30th June so hoping for a proposed timescale to be announced by then.

According to Imperial :SIW sold for £35.6 - liabilities 7m = Net proceeds 29m.
Not sure MDY still has 12% ?
Not sure but at last yr end MDY had 18.3m shares?
So 29*12% / 18.3 = 19p share
Not sure about taxes, bonus, warrants etc to be paid.
There was some cash left so looks like a potential large payout on liquidation.

Stryker buy Stanmore for £35.6million so does that mean we all get a final dividend?

Stryker Corporation (NYSE: SYK) acquired Stanmore Implants Worldwide Limited for £35.6 million from SIW Holdings Limited in an all cash transaction. According to the company, Stanmore Implants was an innovative orthopaedic business focused on serving the needs of surgeons that treat adult and juvenile orthopaedic oncology.

Stanmore is now a market leader in the UK and has a rapidly expanding presence in export markets, delivered through both direct and distributor sales.

Stanmore operates from an FDA compliant manufacturing facility close to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, and has a small Continental European sales office in Lyon, France. The Company was spun out as an independent company from UCL's Centre for Biomedical Engineering in 1996. The Centre is known for its design of some of the world's most successful implants including the Stanmore Hip.

MDY Healthcare Ltd co-led, with Abingworth Management, a syndicate of investors to acquire Stanmore Implants in February 2008.

I keep an eye on news via Imperial Innovations.
I would suspect the patent issue would have knocked their IPO timing.
I would not have any idea how to value this business.

Thanks Russman. Might be useful to see the Stanmore accounts. How is that business developing under the new CEO? Is there an IPO or trade sale likely. Does it look an attractive asset?

I extracted the Annual Report from the accountants.
Well there are no frills.
Cash is declining, valuation declining.
Not sure we will ever cash out.

The valuation of Stanmore has been reduced but it is not valued as zero, so we may still get a payment if and when Stanmore is sold.

Unfortunately IVO's recent half yearly report included the following

"Not all companies performed to expectations and the Group reported £3.6 million of impairments in its unquoted portfolio. This was largely due to a write down of £3.1 million in Stanmore Implants, taken in the wake of the orthopaedic device manufacturer facing challenging regulatory conditions in the USA."

They value their stake at £3.1 million following the write down so I'd expect a substantial write down here too.

MDY say the Stanmore investment was increased under IFRS as another shareholder made an investment in the that year. I don't think it was Imperial and not Norgine; have I missed a transaction?
