Price recovering. I think the worries about house market are overdone. They are selling less than 3,000 units pa so there are bound to be some takers - people with lots of cash, or lucky selling their houses, or returning from living abroad, or on big pensions and already renting....etc.

The irony here is that almost all the points raised by the company today were already flagged in the June 29th. Only difference being we're now seeing an improvement in August. These will be back at 2 quid by the end of the month. Beware mm manipulation.

I remember my mum looked at retirement flats in Stirling and folk were desperate to sell due to the very expensive service charge over £100 per month on top of council tax, flats going for 65k and I'm sure folk paid 90k brand new.Poor investment as is all new build flats better buying a house.

Looks a sound thing to be buying, with shares merely right back to bottom of their upward trading range. Market being far to backward looking and dramatic over an outlook statement which isn't that bad. And the fundamental demand for the sector they serve is only going in one direction which is UP

Bought into todays fall, lots of stop losses triggered, I think that they will recover somewhat. We shall see

Just finished listening to the conference call. A lot of statistics were given which showed how consumer confidence has fluctuated in the last few months. There was a positive rebound in August, but whether this will continue is anyone's guess as it is too early to tell. I think the conference call recording will be well worth listening to for those who didn't listen in live. See what your impression is. Today's initial fall is perhaps overdone?

Good read across stock down from £3 so looks likely to gather momentum back to that level

This trading update is sound in historic numbers. There is a note of caution looking ahead, but clearly the business model works. In a year from now it might be difficult to beat today's announced figures. Quite where the share price should settle is anyone's guess. There has been some recovery in share price post the Brexit vote. Let's see what happens at the open. My guess is back down to 200p. It'll be interesting to hear the conference call.

Are we just pausing for breath here? Other housebuilder results are quite positive and
question the negative effect of Brexit.

check out mcs price highs of 2006/7 on rmv
values took a big dip up to 2015, over the last 18months prices
have recovered 30/40% depending on area,
sp looks way undervalued

this is not about other builders ( who could still take a hit on London sites)
but the chronic shortage of suitable retirement homes

Hi, Ayl! So some of us still dare to venture on the dark side!

Re MCS, a recent buy of mine, I agree. Keeping mine too.
In fact, I might buy a place off them one not-too-distant day!

Plus the fact that in past couple of weeks people seemed to have woken up to the fact that this has been a bit unloved since Brexit. mood towards builders has improved over all. I hold, am showing a nice profit and will continue to do so
