It does not bode well when they lose two finance directors in 8 months!

Probably the news today from Reckitt Benckiser which have very good results ...like for like sales up 10%, operating margins improving in the face of rising cost. MCB compares badly...looks like a management problem, the supermarkets are running circles round them. Having missed the boat to get out I am hoping they might from a strong euro and cost consious consumers. Apart from Reckitt any views on how MCB is faring against other competitors?

I have folllowed this stock for 1 year down to this level and still believe there is another fastbounce down another 20% before it starts climbing, good exposure to developing eastern europe

I watch this stock from time to time. It seems a dud compared to Reckitt Ben (RB.). You'd think they would benefit from a weak pound against the competition and from the credit crunch. But the problem seems to be they can pass on raw material rises and they seem not to be fairing very well against the competition. What concerns me is the management! Any views?

"..talks of mitigating raw material price increases by passing the price increase on.."

Or more likely getting a shake of the head from high street stores who are not known for their generosity towards suppliers in what is a cut-throat marketplace. Shops themselves are suffering bigtime now with energy costs and transport costs rising faster than sales. If McBride think they can pass on increases they are kidding themselves.

around 10x earnings?? Not cheap are they?? Wouldn't be tempted to buy at this price 50-60p range possibly but with hardly any growth they won't achieve more than 7x in my opinion.

Be interesting to see how the market reacts to this....statement talks of mitigating raw material price increases by passing the price increase on and that this process continues.....should it manage that then IMO this as a highly cash generative should pay its debt down reasonably quickly thus removing the other perceived risk to the business.....not out of the woods yet, but an interesting one to watch...

Just had a lok at thsi as major faller today. Does not look good. Major increases in agricultural raw material costs. Customer buying power. Heavily geared. ntav only 44p (refs re 07 accounts) Have not been able to get an up to date figure. Direcors own a minimal amount of stock ONLY 0.17% between them.

Anyone got any reasons to buy??

Looking better now, if they can negotiate decent price increases to offset commodity increases then great, oil price reduction all helps....

Ah profit warning! first of the usual 3 by the look of it.....2008 doesn't look promising, and avoid or maybe even a sell even at lows.
