Thanks Rhotoid, looks like a possibility of hitting the low of this time last year unless a good set of results does the trick in the very near term.

geraldus

Looks like should be roundabout now - based on last year.

Abit concerned aboout todays move lower, but looking that only three tiny trades may just be drifting down due to little interest, anyone else think any different?

I guess that means they've rather presumptiously assumed people have followed their previous ratings in the past (!) and bought or they're just saying what they've done themselves for their fund.

Either way I'll take it as a buy rating,if they're saying turn around point sort of echo's what people on here have been saying but I think people here think the end game is likely to be a sale of the company as well.

Cut and Paste - Hmmn. They run a couple of funds so put people's money in some of the stuff they recommend. MXM was a buy much higher up; stance changed to Hold on profit warnings; now changed to Average down post recent news flow as in their view MXM is now at a turn around point.

Well spotted Wh1spa, thanks for posting.
Must admit I hadn't really considered that private equity are under pressure themselves to do deals just to stay in existence, it may well tip someone's hand into taking on mxm and at a good price.

thanks for that rhotoid
I found this article which may be of interest to some:

I guess since the article was written things have become more volatile but saying that there is a lot of cash out there looking for good homes.
70p would be great!

Considering MXM have in effect put themselves "up for sale" there seems to be no lack of confidence in their offering.Hopefully a bidding war will ensue!

I wonder how many shares are now in free float. 27,500 shares traded and the price is up 2%. Cant be long before the penny drops.

Re the £20m. The bod from Moneyweek reckoned that fair value at present would be around 50p share. Since his article various contracts have been signed so I've added 10p for good measure.

re: takeout price

Not a clue I'm afraid!
I was going to ask where you got the £20m from!
I guess we should be able to have a stab from taking the remaining business's and ongoing profit but I confess I haven't crunched the numbers.
The only problem with that type of excercise as well is that it can swing widely between a)less then you would expect because they've sold good businesses and the rest is damaged by all the upheaval b) more than you expect because they've got some more focus and get traction on value generating activities

If getting genuine new contracts then it may be trending towards b), if that's the case then in 6 months time I could see 70p a share, (but that's assuming the recent disposal proceeds are not frittered away)

rhotoid (nice to have some company) Care to hazard a guess on the takeout price?

Agreed Wh1spa,
I get the feeling it's the sort of tidying up you would do in case you thought someone was going to be doing due diligence in the near future, a liability like that would be something which would be flagged up I would imagine.
