mention in moneyweek - looks interesting. Need to restore confidence with solid figs and new contracts.
Improved newsflow as touched on before would not go amiss.
Watching and waiting

Not sure i agree with ceo's opinion about being the only option for embedded chip card designs.
The following white paper was produced in 2001 by Datacard and the development is now well advanced if not complete.
Surely this must have a huge impact on mat potential.

well at least an RNS to support the price now. Suppose MAT didnt really track down with the general market, so a bit of catch up was due.

a quite BB can usually be a positive sign. Lets see the next set of results before we write MAT off.

well, not in to MAT for quite a while - got out without too much loss - at least I do not continually pump my shares around other BB threads - unlike yourself....... and I do highlight my mistakes as well (as per post #6).

Welcome aboard GHF.

Hopefully a little momentum will build in MAT following today's announcement. I can imagine it will register in a few director dealing articles which should help us back towards a pound. With trading going well and the underlying market growing in double digits im hoping its rating improves markedly over time. We may have to wait until the interims to get it but it should move quickly thereon as there won't likely be much loose stock around.

Kaitech controlled the almost entire shareholding of MATICA (now about 50%). The decision to quote MAT was to cash in and invest to buy the remaining of gruppo pro. Kaitech last results were not that good (hence the drop in share price from 48 to abot 40). Matica was the most interesting bit of Kaitech.

When was the hold recommendation from though phurley? If it was from a few weeks ago when the share price was 100p then it makes sense. 30% lower down and it might not apply. Its good to see some sense finally returning to MAT. Selftrade will still not let you buy any online but are bidding for 7.5k. Anyone else able to get an online quote and if so in what size?

Its been a struggle to get hold of a decent size position in MAT. That is until now. 22.5k available on the offer. The seller is obviously taking advantage of todays news to try and exit their position. Once its cleared it should move pretty sharply as punters learn of the story. I wouldn't mind a repeat of EDA here!

there's been a few interesting buys at todays price so someone thinks it's good value but like you i would like to know more about last years second half, strange that we are into end of may and have no figures there must be something due soon.

Interested to know your thoughts on the fractalos technology which is only leased it would be interesting to know how important this technology is to mat, the terms of the lease and whether any competitors could buy into the technology.

just looking at the results to 30th june 2006 will post thoughts when finished

and security for banks is certainly a growing business .....

Not directly related to MAT ... but an example of how banks are stepping up security for customers transactions....

(Barclays Bank is handing out handheld chip-and-pin card readers as part of a new online security initiative).
