30/6/2019 10:49 | It seems very odd that this company is winding-up and offering the same open-ended strategy given that the continuation vote was passed. The Board seem to have chosen a rather biased way forward for Martin Currie. Not impressed, albeit there are better managers around anyway so I will take the cash. The continuation vote was passed for the investment trust. Holders didn't vote for this. | topvest
25/9/2011 15:21 | Hi Energyi/Gain, Looks like you're talking to yourselves at the moment. I just read a piece about MCP's impending production... do you have any further news on when/if production has started? I also read a couple of pieces about Beryllium a little while ago, and at how it will in future be used in U232 fuel-rods to make electricity generation totally safe and thus able to be used more widely someone even talked of small reactors in the garden) though I suspect Governments would do all in their power to prevent that, as we all know that there are those in the world who would relish the opportunity to upset capitalist systems. Also been reading up on Graphene (Carbon based sheets of one carbon atom bonded to others in a hexagon lattice), that is the strongest substance known to man, and will be widely used in military systems. Anyway, perhaps some tables in the header of current REEs together with prices would spur discussion. If you're not techie enough to do that give me a shout, I have a thread on MWA that uses quite a bit of HTML to make the header a little more informative. GL anyway if you're a holder. TBH, I usually focus on AIMs and juniors, but I might consider others if the upside potential can be proved to be VERY worthwhile. W. | wstirrup
27/12/2010 21:17 | Some encouraging signs now, perhaps folk have noticed the rising EPS for the last 3 years. | glentimon
13/12/2010 08:52 | Odd, and very disappointing, that this is not at least sharing in some of the re-rating displayed by the near vertical rise in BGFD & BGS in the last 2 weeks. | glentimon
09/9/2010 09:22 | Been buying some of these, as seems excessive discount to NAV at about 18%. Probably the closest i'll come to investing in Japan via an investment trust. As about 50% is invested in Japan/china, I suspect one for the long term. | glentimon

28/5/2002 21:09 | Check out MCP. They're up 50% since September 2001 and 30% this year so far! Pete | itsourpete
28/5/2002 21:07 | Today marked another breakout to 131.75. But these shares still trade at a 12.9% discount to net asset value which currently lies at 151.2pps! Far eastern promise with exposure to the rising sun. Do your own research. Regards Pete | itsourpete |
