p@: maybe i hit the nail on the head? p@-14 Nov'14 - 09:20 - 3262 of 3311 0 0 edit Remind you of Qpp? MAPLE ENERGY PLC ("Maple" or the "Company") Notification of Transactions By Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility Shareholding Maple Energy plc (AIM: MPLE; LIMA: MPLE), an integrated energy company with assets in Peru, was notified on 04 April 2014, that Mr. Tony Hines, the Company's Senior Vice President and Executive Director, was forced to execute several trades involving the Company's shares (the "Shares") in order to satisfy certain unexpected obligations under his outstanding sale and repurchase agreements (the "Repo Agreements"), details of which were disclosed on 11 February 2014. Specifically, as a result of the decline in the value of the collateral supporting the Repo Agreements due to the recent steep decline in the Company's share price, Mr. Hines was forced to fulfill a substantial portion of the payment obligations under the Repo Agreements on 04 April 2014. In order to satisfy these obligations, Mr. Hines used the proceeds from the sale of 2,558,067 Shares, sold at an average price per share of approximately US$0.16 (0.10p*), along with additional personal cash, to satisfy these obligations and repurchase 1,634,850 Shares at a price per share of US$0.35 (0.21p*). Following the completion of the transactions described above, Mr. Tony Hines beneficially owns 5,534,260 ordinary shares or 3.37% of the outstanding share capital of Company on a non-diluted basis; and has a remaining outstanding balance under his remaining Repo Agreement equivalent to approximately US$205,000.

the stigologist: looks like he was bottom fishing from 10p down i.e. a full 400% higher than todays price pmsl Maple Oil...newcomer today....84p now Ј1 to buy...> - MPLE Loverat - 07 Aug 2014 - 16:31:47 - 1037 of 2886 Last sale there (46,772) bought earlier at 10.69p. A nice loss of 400 quid. Maple Oil...newcomer today....84p now Ј1 to buy...> - MPLE Loverat - 05 Aug 2014 - 12:48:42 - 828 of 2886 Indeed they do. Whether a bid comes off or not, these are good value and there are likely to be some positive announcements in the future. It is amazing the way the share price has been moved around though and this has created an opportunity bid or no bid.

moreforus: cantrember ...dont think he has happily got out...think he has been forced to get out....of course he isnt named here but its not exactly an outlandish conclusion to think its him!!! " Share price The Company is aware that the share price has declined sharply in recent weeks. As explained above the Company is currently facing adverse market conditions in its ethanol business. However the Company's share price is also being affected by the forced liquidation of a large shareholder's holdings in Maple. The Company has been advised that this shareholder's position is forcibly being sold in connection with outstanding debt obligations of the shareholder and is not related to the Company's operations or performance." that was from the 14th Feb 2014 update when the price was 16p?? !!

moreforus: why not?? well he has been selling for ages...before the "approach" rns - and given his size of selling and regularity he effectively has destroyed his own market.... however although not named I don't think it's a huge leap of faith to see him as the distressed seller they mentioned in the Feb 2014 rns Share price "The Company is aware that the share price has declined sharply in recent weeks. cantrememberthis2: Takeover approach was initiated when the share price sat at 9p. Any offer below this is not feasible as share price movements since then should become irrelevant to a bidder/maple because it a highly price sensitive and volatile period. It is all unclear but going by hard facts the factors hurting them are low Ethanol prices and stupidly high production/company costs. the other thing is, they have interested parties and that is a slight comfort. They only sellers here are Private Investors who are contributing to the demise of their own investments lol. hold.

loverat: Still amazed at the action here. Share price spiked up to 37p and back down to less than before the offer talks. Still a possibility of an offer and certainly potential upside if no offer and MPLE reach a deal on the project. I would laugh if they announced an offer at way above these levels and you can imagine the scramble to buy back in. In my view the market cap is too low and the share price distorted.

doji star: Interesting situation........if nothing else:) I think RC might have to sell the lot, but at the same time he does want the make the Share price tank (selling into spikes). If that 12 February 2013 announcement is anything to go by, it indicates a value of around £500,000 owed. So assuming hes just rolled them over till now and with the share price going from 60p to 10p. That's pretty much all his shares to cover that payment, at this price. As for the big trades. Really difficult to tell without some more clues. Could be one of the people that is owed money hedging the position? tommy107, yes, long with a very small amount. Think they need sell at least 50% of the Ethanol Business to a bigger parnter. .......and think they will.
