22/1/2015 15:13 | Same as Marwalker,I enjoy the Chadeuil and quite a few more of their cheaper range.I picked up four cases in all - bought two cases of the Superieur's,some Pessan,Pauillac and Mathilde plus one case of the Winter Warmers ( Jean Baptiste Cuvee/Merlot/Sauvign | mots
22/1/2015 10:44 | Thought I'd order some more claret from Bordeaux undiscovered ..... even their £6.99 offerings ( like Chateau Chadeuil and Les Graves de Barrau ) are excellent value ..... need to open for a couple of hours first and get the temperature right though. Motts, I treated myself to a few bottles of sale price Pessan and Mathilde ..... looking foreward to the first one tonight ! | marwalker
19/1/2015 15:22 | The last wine kit I've made - Kenridge Classic Sauv Blanc - is just starting to drink now. Works out at around £1.60 per bottle. I reckon you'd need to pay around £12 for a bottle of Pouilly Fume to match it. | shorecrab
17/1/2015 03:22 | Brew your own wine kits are great I started off with cantina red wine kit very easy to make and is ready in 7 days .have given some bottles away as gifts etc and everyone has always asked if there is anymore going.give it a try you won't be disappointed.ps works out about a pound a bottle. | lingy
16/1/2015 22:50 | There's some really good deals on claret at Bordeaux Undiscovered right now - I think the Pauillac and Mathilde de La Fleur Morange at 14.99, the Pessan at 13.99 and the Superieur Clarets case for 89.99 a dozen are particularly good value. They're offering their 'Winter Warmers' case at under six quid a bottle, i've tried them all and they're very drinkable - I defy anyone to find me a better claret under a tenner at Tesco. hxxp://www.bordeaux- | mots
06/1/2015 10:44 | marwalker, egg whites and casein (milk protein) can be used as fining agents, as well as several other strangely derived substances. | shorecrab
06/1/2015 08:20 | It was when I got some for £3. | bionicdog
06/1/2015 03:07 | Tesco Finest Stellenbosch was a steal with 20% 3 bottles. 14% and some heavy tannins. | yf23_1
04/1/2015 15:44 | Tunisia is pretty appalling too...if you got away without a stomach bug you did well........ Israeli locally made spirits are disgusting too..... I think its a good rule of thumb that if a drink has not been imported into Britain in the past 200 hundred years ..... well there's good reason for it. Greece should never been allowed to join the EEC because they make and drink Retsina. | marwalker
04/1/2015 15:14 | Worst wine I ever tasted was Tunisian, appalling stuff on an all inclusive break but nothing else to drink. First day home I bought the cheapest plonk I could find on Tesco shelves and it tasted like nectar in comparison. Tried the cheap Tesco plonk a few weeks later and it was truly awful stuff! | bigbigdave
04/1/2015 14:57 | Yes you have to wonder about Maltese wine ...... on hols. to Gozo , I have never seen a grape vine growing there.... | marwalker
04/1/2015 14:51 | Unfortunately no Grapes though!! LOL | isis
04/1/2015 14:49 | Browsing yesterday .... noticed Sainsburys own East Australian Shiraz ... label had an allergy warning ..... ' contains sulphites , eggs , and cows milk.' latter two in wine ??? | marwalker
09/12/2014 07:43 | That's not nearly strong enough to get you through the trauma of the festive season. The 2012 vintage currently on sale a Waitrose is a disappointing 14.5%. | bionicdog
08/12/2014 22:17 | COOP has an offer on Argentinian Trapiche Malbec £6.99. Intense, smokey and way over my normal limit at 14%. Delicious. | bamboo2
26/11/2014 16:44 | I tried some of their Malbec's & Rioja's last time - tasted fine to me. :-)) These Supermarket Wars are fine too. ;-)) | isis
26/11/2014 14:49 | Sainsbury giving it away again. 25% off six , meaning that you can get Campo Viejo tempranillo for £4.50. They keep giving me £6 off a £40 spend vouchers on top of that , but you have to spend a least the voucher price on food. | bionicdog
25/11/2014 20:28 | Tempted to try the Asda Koru Sauv Blanc. | goodgrief
25/11/2014 18:50 | Article from a while ago. Might try the Morrisons Signature Alsace Gewürztraminer 2012, if it's still available. Looking for some Xmas whites, if any ideas out there? | bamboo2
20/11/2014 18:34 | If you like boiled sweets fine, but its not for me. Who, What, Why: Is Beaujolais Nouveau making a comeback? | bigbigdave
16/11/2014 13:50 | I got lucky a couple of years ago at a small auction .... £5 bought me a bottle of Cristal 1964 .... virtually no evaporation and cork and foil in pretty good nick . Did I drink it ? You must be joking ..... sold on commission by Fine and Rare Wines for £1350 minus their %. Who pays such a silly price for what is likely to be undrinkable ? ..... though thank you very much. Wish some of my other auction buys were as profitable ..... indeed my most recent just the opposite ... a fake painting .... still should get a refund. | marwalker
15/11/2014 13:25 | LOL! Mine always come via Fed Ex. The Christmas Clarets offer is very good - it includes a bottle of the Graves 2006 Ch Pessan, which is one of my favourites - also included is the Ch Basset which i like,at just £6.99. Their signature Pauilliac @ about £20 is superb, I've paid twice the price in the past for similar quality. | mots |
