Guy: Thanks for the feedback. I don't think the serious investors here would mind if you started a new thread with those two posts combined so that new visitors could always have them at the head of the discussion. It might stop the usual fat-headed questions and speculations.
Good work!

Thanks for the good post Guy.

I think I'll re-read it every time I'm tempted by any similar share.

I suppose the short answer is "No". I cannot recommend you buy. That must be your decision.

I am clearly gonna be biased here - I have already bought in. What you must understand is that this is not without considerable risk. You could almost view it as venture capital. Buying in at such an early stage means there are potentially big rewards, but by the same reasoning, the risks are also high. Don't forget this truly is just a start up - in fact no more than an idea at this time. The first revenue is a year away yet, and a lot must happen before that comes in. In fact the EGM documentation devotes a whole page to "Risk Factors".

By getting in this early, I am looking for big returns. But the timescale should be measured in years, not months, and defiantely not days. That's not to say there won't be trading opportunities, I'm sure there will.

Remember also this is at this time not very liquid - try selling a reasonable volume of shares when nobody else is trading and you may hit problems getting your order executed at the price you think you should get. There are only a few shareholders - a small number of trades could move the price both ways. Great going up, but...

Everyone quotes "DYOR" etc. But you really should before you invest. Even more so for something like MBF. As I said, I have invested, and fairly heavily by my standards. But I'd like to think I understand what they are trying to make of the business, and I understand the risks.

I suppose it all comes down to the level of risk you are prepared to accept, and the timescale. All I can say is that for those who can afford a high risk, and are prepared to be patient, then this is in my opinion definately worth a look.

Hope this makes some sense.

Mobilefuture EGM – Wednesday 30th July 2003

All directors were present

The formal part of the meeting was pretty short, perhaps not surprising given there were only a handful of private investors present. There was also the fact that the EGM was called for a specific purpose – to approve the new business and the Springfield project.

Emmanuel Olympitis kicked off before handing over to Fred Weinert and Steve Crisman who talked a little more about IMAX films and the plans for Springfield. After a few questions and answers about the project and IMAX films we then moved onto the formality of voting, and the new business was born.

As with previous PCM meetings, the directors talked informally both before and after the meeting, and as ever this proved to be more informative than the brief Q&A section. We got to see the plan for the Springfield site which they are hoping to open next summer, with July 4th being a target date.

Others are in the pipeline – one in Europe ( but they weren’t giving much away as to where ), and others in Asia as has already been mentioned. How quickly they are hoping to expand the empire is anyone’s guess. Clearly a number of potential sites has been looked at, but we can only guess at the level of interest. Presumably priorities will now focus on getting the Springfield project going.

So, no “hot news” of what we can expect next. But of course, I never thought there would be. News must always come through the official channels. But it did give the opportunity for us to meet the “new guys” and to get a better insight into the team and what they have in mind. To coin a phrase we have perhaps heard before…
“I look to the future with optimism and confidence.”

Yep - I was there. Late back last night and a lot to catch up on taday work wise. I'll try and put together something tonight. Not a lot to report, but good to put a few faces to names. Next one's in September - I expect to be heading down then too.

Guy > I'd imagine you're too busy today to post anything of interest that may have occurred at/after the meeting (if you managed to get to it) - I'm sure we'd all welcome any comment if you get a chance...

Lucky: Why are you phoning the directors? What on earth do you expect them to tell you? Are they going to say "Oo, I'm glad you phoned because we want to tell you about xxx, xxx, xxx, that we want YOU to know about before anyone else."
I really don't understand your thinking.

Ive bitten the bullet mate and made a few bob
from this whole affair.

I would admit a loss if there was one.
I do not deny I have lost fortunes in the past,
but relieved to have made back some of it on here

I may be back in due course but I have this sneaky feeling it wont
be for sometime.

Once this development is near copmplete I may take another flutter.

Lucky.

Spurrier..

Listen matey//

Im sick of directors not wishing to come to a phone
after many calls into them.

If its not good enough for them..it aint good enough for me.
Thats my motto..and I stick to my principles.

Overall though, I did earn a few bob from this one..

I say its time to move on and come back in 2 years for a top up.

All the best to the holders.
Lucky.

Lucky: how much notice do you really take of this BB? A number of people were telling you what was going to happen at the EGM. Nothing. One really wonders what kind of investor you are. I suspect one of the me-me-me-feed me-excite me generation which has the 10 second attention span so redolent of the brainless youth that knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing.
