Schroders seem to be selling which is holding things back but think when they have rebalanced to where they want to be it should move north

I also hold. Figures and long term prospects look good but not really reflected in share price at present. Seems to follow a pattern of rising well on results then dropping back with no news. Confident in long term prospects so happy to hold and take the reasonable dividend.

The Daily Telegraph (Questor share tip): Low & Bonar shares look cheap; the market may have missed Low & Bonar's soaring profits and dividends.Explains today's rise and volume perhaps. At last!

well done Felix you are already in the money. I was going to post at greater length on 758 but couldn't be bothered as the markets were so dire! Anyway I have come across the Chairman of LWB and when I read his statement I bt straight away-hitherto he has been very measured and cautious in his comments(he has been Chairman in other companies) so I see this as a real positive. Plus they seem to have decent visibility in some areas going forward. And of course the rating is very low -definitely a three figure share price.

yes just bought a few of what I want today and will add as the mkts oblige - hopefully cheaper before a move north after summer perhaps

its on a modest rating as well so think a share price in three figures would not be unrealistic. However the markets are not receptive at present ...

Half year results due Thursday - should see a nice rise through to and beyond then as already know they are going to be good. Lots of promise for future growth here imo.

Und nicht viele sprechen Deutsch! :-)

Slow market reaction to the good trading update this morning.

Singer repeats 'buy' recommendation, retaining 96p target.

The investment in China is a significant event. As we know, it will cost about £13m pa for 2 years to set up. Net cash inflow from operating activities last year was £15.2m, subtract dividends of £7.2m = £8.0m, so probably no further purchases without issuing more shares. Last share issue was at 69p 9 months ago, so the participants did well on that one.

They are in good markets for the continuing global recovery. When China comes on line (2016) there should be another step up in eps.

Happy holder.

Pre-Close Trading Statement

Low & Bonar PLC ("the Group"), the international performance materials group with leading positions in niche industrial markets, today provides an update on trading for the six months ended 31 May 2014. The Group expects to report its half-year results on 10 July 2014.

The Group has made good progress in the first half of the year with sales on a constant-currency basis expected to be some 10% ahead of the same period last year. As anticipated, Civil Engineering and Building Products sales were significantly ahead of a weak prior-year comparative. Industrial and Leisure sector sales also grew strongly. Overall demand was more muted in Flooring and Automotive markets despite good progress in the APAC region.

The Group's results will be more second half biased than in previous years, reflecting the acquisition of Texiplast. Trading momentum is good entering this traditionally stronger period and we remain confident that the Group will deliver another year of significant financial progress, notwithstanding foreign exchange rate headwinds. As announced separately, Brett Simpson will succeed Steve Good as Group Chief Executive on 8 September 2014.

Classic radio comedy Masurenguy. Wonderful stuff. I grew up with it as a kid and I still find it funny. You can still listen to Rambling Sid Rumpo grunging his nadders.

Bonar Geosynthetics? Are the MD and FD called Julian and Sandy by any chance. Perhaps I'm going round the bend - or Round the Horne.
