|spectoacc: And there's Hallwood's withdrawal.
Taken up the 4p here, but highly aggrieved.
"Further to UKRD's announcement on 12 May 2009 that the Second Revised UKRD Offer
at 4 pence per TLR Share had been declared unconditional, Hallwood regretfully
announces that Hallwood's Second Revised Offer, which was announced on 5 May
2009, is withdrawn.
Such withdrawal is effected with the consent of the Panel, owing to the fact
that it is no longer possible for Hallwood's Second Revised Offer to obtain
acceptances in respect of TLR Shares which, together with TLR Shares acquired or
agreed to be acquired before or during the Second Revised Offer, carry in
aggregate more than 50 per cent. of the voting rights normally exercisable at a
general meeting of TLR.
Hallwood is not going to accept UKRD's offer of 4 pence per TLR Share.
Commenting on the withdrawal, Anthony Gumbiner, Chairman of Hallwood and
Non-executive Chairman of TLR, said, "It would be ungracious of me not to
congratulate UKRD on its victory and I wish UKRD well. To fight and win a
contested takeover battle is no small thing especially in the middle of the
recession. I will do all I can to make the Board transition as easy as

next share price move ???|
|scotswhaehae: Interesting appointment just announced...I suspect that once all her share options etc are on board (the other directors have already managed to get theirs!) at this absurdly low price we shall see solid share price appreciation...
Not b4 time of course...but an excellent long term opportunity here imho!|
|rambutan2: i think that it's already done enough falling thankyou. it looks an interesting special situation sort of play. is in an unloved sector. has had a terrible share price drop comparative to any news they've released. high quality shareholders have upped stakes in recent months ie herald and perpetual investment trusts. they both patient shareholders and i suspect that for the similarly minded buying in at current price will offer a decent reward.|
|rambutan2: agree, would certainly be a problem after recent share price trajectory. although when you refer to putting their own house in order do you mean there are internal probs?|
|scotswhaehae: mr grahamite2... 'reasons' for a sale are never given...if u trawl through the volume there clearly were massive sales (and buys) on the key day in December and the couple of days following...I dont know where u got the phrase 'as a result of a change in policy'...
when u say 'is there another reason' u bemuse me...what else other than big sales could be the case??
clearly, from the trading statements alone it is clear times are tough...but u must sort out whether the share price has over reacted...
I've just enjoyed a great few days with ARG as a similar heavy overreaction downwards has rebounded, with much further to go.
With luck etc that will be the case eventually with this one too!
Good luck all!|
