31/3/2020 10:13 | Yes Pierre. The comment section of that article has more info than the article itself. Such as Sweden effectively ignoring the perceived wisdom of lockdown, and carrying on regardless. No explosion of infections. I too am having problems with the logic displayed by Boris and most of his gang. Common sense would appear to have been thrown under a bus. | maxk
31/3/2020 10:12 | I like all that but I can't drive anywhere Lol | ignoble
31/3/2020 10:04 | Boris and the gov are rapidly losing my support. He desparately needs more rounded and varied expert opinion to assess effects, and not just virus experts. | pierre oreilly
31/3/2020 10:00 | Max, yeah, more and more are thinking the same. A bit different from 4 weeks ago when lots of alarmists posted I was insane for not wanting total lockdown, and just the vulnerable to isolate themselves. Unfortunately, consequential deaths due to stress are rising, suicides up, family murders up, and depression and hopelessness will kill loads more, more than the virus ime. Not to mention the quality of life we are all having ATM. We're in a police state, with the police sometimes acting beyond their remit. The b all and end-all shouldn't be saving frail people at any cost - as we are now seeing, the cost is the lives of many who should have a full life in front of them. | pierre oreilly

31/3/2020 09:55 | Brilliant favourite saying and how true | ignoble
31/3/2020 09:51 | Mitchy Nice one. There are some positives for those who want to look. I learned a lesson for life many many years ago. I was in the scouts and had gone on the annual camp. The weather was shocking. One lad kept standing around saying how cold and wet it was - of which we were only too well aware. Another lad continually had us in stitches. Needless to say who was most popular. I still see him on and off. One of his favourite saying is 'who cares whether my glass is half empty or half full. I can still fit more in.' I suspect yours will always be half empty smartie | scruff1
31/3/2020 09:49 | A lot of people seem to be successfully working from home. Depends on your career, obviously | ignoble
31/3/2020 09:42 | Of course pollution is down, for obvious reasons. The country as a whole is going in the same direction. But, it looks like at least one politician gets it. Politics latest news: Cure for coronavirus could be 'more harmful' than pandemic, Grant Shapps says as he warns against crashing UK economy Harry Yorke, political correspondent 31 MARCH 2020 • 9:09AM The 'cure' for coronavirus could "more harmful" than the pandemic itself, a Cabinet minister has suggested, as he warned that sending all workers home risked crashing the economy. Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, defended the Government's approach to the lockdown, insisting there was a need for some people to continue travelling to work. Labour and other opposition parties have called for stricter guidance to prevent non-essential workers from continuing to work as normal, amid fears it is undermining efforts to suppress the spread of the disease. But this morning Mr Shapps said ministers had to be "careful not to completely crash the economy," warning that it could be "impossible or very difficult to pick up again afterwards."... | maxk
