Apparently about 68p per share was discussed with Thus 'subject to due diligence'. The results of that due diligence are evident in the final offer.

I am of the understanding that this company is subject to a tske-over, since September. What I don`t understand why this length of time?

Legend...No replies to emails, prices that are higher than anyone else, service that stinks...but yes I think they will be taken over...Market share is the name of the game so it can't be one of the bigger groups, leaving just Thus or Pipex. But it must come soon to stop legend heamorrhaging to death and there will be nothing to takeover.

There is an inevitability about todays' drop..anyone have any idea what is going on???...officially the company is still in negotiations to sell itself...on the basis that we have had no rns to say that the talks have been terminated. Today's price movement provoked me to go to the web site; all i learnt was that they are doing no recruiting(hardlky surprising), have officially opened their docklands facility and are discounting on their prices.

i suppose that must be glad that sales of 100,000+ produced such a small fall

It has been a long time that we have had people buying 120,000 shares in one day

I took some money off the table today. I am reasonably optimistic that they will be taken over...not sure at what price because they have little bargaining power. The spooky thing is that at 905 they had £933k in cash but in the six months to 905 had spent £635k in capex; to the extent that their business plans with VOIP take off they will need to invest more in working capital...not to mention their hosting business..and the bank must be very twitchy..although I take the point that if they can have an EBITDA surplus in the next 4/5 months that will help as their interest costs are manageable and they do not pay tax. The fact that they have not hired a new Finance Director illustrates that they are in for sale mode. I have to say very difficult to value and I thought the price would have come off 3/4p today.

I like 'talks continuing and a further announcement in the future'. Thus or Pipex would be my choice....

Strange set of results these, they have certainly wiped out any gains they have made since they came to market. I wouldnt be surprised if these warranted an investigation, they raise money and 6 weeks later issue a profits warning, the FD resigns and then they come out with these losses, surely you cant just come up with a £1.6million loss without being aware of it 6 months prior. Tether and Greenwood still standing by them and keeping the share price relatively high, looks strange until you look at the name of both companies chairman.........conflict of interests anyone??!!

Does anyone have a position long or short in this? Had a chat with the Nomad Tether and Greenwood yesterday...was told that the discussions about them being acquired are ongoing but did not get any sense that anything would happen soon..he did confirm that it was T and G's policy to issue a RNS when it appeared that any such discussions had come to no conclusion, and obviously we have had no such RNS Reminded him that in August that we were told we would have a new trading update...nothing will come out before the interim statements which I gathered will be later than last year's date of Nov 24. Trading volumes have been even lower than normal..something has been cooking here..many people appear to be like me..not sure what to do.

Isaw this article in The Times of October 15 on the Pipex thread...do not quite see Pipex buying LGC but as I know nothing on Thus cannot comment on that...anyway I guess we are in for some fun and games this week while Sky define themselves ref purchases of broadband companies. quote Rumour of the day Legend Communications, the telecoms carrier formerly called Business Serve, held steady at 54½p on word that Thus Group, off ¼p at 14p, and Pipex Communications, unchanged at 8¾p, were behind bid approaches disclosed by the company last month. Lord Baker of Dorking, the former Conservative Home Secretary, is a non-executive chairman and holds a 2.15 per cent stake. unquote

Why all these ETP notices? Trying to confirm holdings prior to announcement?

Thanks for that news dramatis and am trying to assess the implications..does this mean that they are folding their tents and leaving the field defeated or does it reflect a new more coordinated sales force. my understanding that dsvr was going along quite nicely and had a 95% renewal rate perhaps I have misunderstood/my information dated....any insight you may have appreciated.

it appears that a number of sales and marketing staff throughout legend's companies (including dsvr) have been offered voluntary redundancy packages. senior sales people from dsvr accepted packages on fri 30th. whether this can be attributed to recent trading staement or is indeed part of a well timed restructuring is yet to be determined.

Re todays' announcement of a possible purchase....at the end of the day the company is too thinly stretched across too broad a waterfront , it cannot raise new funds and a purchase and a rationaliztion would be in the best interests of everyone. It did appear 3/4 months ago that they could have an early lead in VOIP but they are being overtaken by better capitilized companies. all I can do is to escape with as small a loss as possible

who are these lunatics buying into a company that only on 22 august announced a severe proft warning, the stock fell from 56p to 37p only to go back up to 50p close on tuesday 23 august and a further 2p rise today,my only assumption is those who sld heavy on monday after the warning closed their positions disappointed in the event it did not fall further on tuesday, if anything it is a perfect time to short because the reflection of that dire warning is not factored in the price and i am looking around the 35-40p mark very soon. i was somewhat perplexed as to why the bourse that brought this to the market wasn't aware of the profit warning just weeks after the floatation. i was temted to nibble at 34p yesterday, and didn't. today it is up by 30%. dyor
