"I have been extraordinarily energised in the past few months and can report
back to our shareholders that in addition to the drilling rights we have secured
and announced today, we continue to be close to concluding a number of other
deals that I hope to announce in due course. Successful oil and gas companies
all start with the basics, and our starter kit at Lodore is incomparable in my
experience."
Can't get much more positive than that from Dr Bob - must say I was expecting some news on a deal to acquire the Medco assets as per his previous statement, i.e.
"Lodore believes it is in a commanding position to capture the remaining US
Assets at an attractive price due to the economic interest it holds which
effectively functions as a discount mechanism. We will keep the market informed
about our progress in this matter."
I'm guessing he's still working towards getting at least some of these assets, and that will be part of the future deal flow that he refers to in the statement today.
Meanwhile, this is a potentially huge deal. Assume that Lodore succeeds with just one drilling in the tcf range (he states that the portfolio includes 'some offering potential for a multi-tcf discovery at a PoS of 20% or better'). As 'recent transactions have valued a bcf of proven gas in the ground in the United States at over US$1.5 million' such a drilling would be worth $1.5bn per tcf. Given a 20% PoS they might have to drill a number of times before being successful, but even if they had to drill 4 times, that's only $60m outlay. We don't know the details of the commercial terms agreed between Lodore and Pel-Tex, but whatever they may be that's still a huge return on capital... and a huge boost to shareholder value...
This is just the beginning - the excitement is infectious :-)

Well worth holding IMO to see what are these next deals the chairman is excited about. Won't have to wait long either.

Thanks Tiger

I did in fact top up and like you get the feeling that an announcement is due any day,and I agree it all points to this.Ah but when? We'd all be millionaires if we got our timing right!!

I don't have any new information, but I get the sense that the company is going to make some sort of announcement. The run up in price, the increase in volume, the fact that Dr. Williams has been let loose with this corporate vehicle, all point to something cooking.

I personally don't have the guts to buy more, but for what its worth, I have been around quite a few companies in similar positions, and the signs are similar. It might not be this week, but its soon

view from the analysts in US seems to be that the markets are turning following the correction: about time!
Lodore held up relatively well, and I'm sure will have considerable upside when the deal is completed, though I'd like to know more about the financing before tried to guess a price...

re rating due on completion.my man thinks 25pish in a bad market.30pish in a good one.

mr m -
Have taken a look at GFM - thanks for that.

Didn't post here today as we're really just waiting now - and as I've been in these since they listed they can manage a day or two now without me ;-)
Good to see them standing firm against the market.

Unfortunately, suffering in a few other areas (YOO and IQE) has my attention right now, though it should be temporary... Drops really down to ignorance and rumour, but they're still uncomfortable until the power of the fundamentals wins through.

apologies in order - where did you get the presentation? and is it possible to get a copy as a mere shareholder ;-)

yes I'm in vti, and expecting something from the US in a little while that will blow the share price sky-high - sadly, despite the presence of a couple of very knowledgeable people, the BB thread has been trashed by childish and blinkered posters who don't want any debate.

have also been in and out of oxb this year, and keep an eye on it. Bid rumours sent it up a while ago, then sent it down again when nothing happened. They're sending it back up again now, and may turn out to be true one of these times - even without any bid they're potentially due a good rise this year.

If you're into mining stocks you might want to have a look at Marakand (MKD) - some excellent posters on the thread, and the share price has already gone up a lot this year - expecting confirmation soon of agreement for them to start up their first mine which will give payback in only 2 years. DYOR etc.

regards,
ian

post 214: 'lodore are forecasting...'

I'm long (and confidently long) in Lodore, based on my research at floatation and since. However, to my knowledge there is currently no Lodore confirmation of a deal yet, and certainly no Lodore forecast of ebitda post such a deal.

Trading on inside knowledge is illegal; passing on city rumours is fine; posting rumour as fact is ramping.

I'd love it if what you say turns out to be true, and perhaps that will happen.... don't want to get into BB wars over this, especially as we both appear to be supporters of the share. So just a polite request to post accurately, so people don't get confused between fact and speculation.

Of course if you can give us a reference to a source for your statement I'll happily retract the above and apologise.

regards
