Corrientes Happen to know about the betrayal and the loss of value, because someone from the other side was fired and then spilled the beans. I saw all the documents which showed that the someone's daughter was being ferried around London on the company account, with all her shopping being chalked up to expenses as well. The art world would be none to happy either, because someone artificially inflated the value of paintings by auctioning them, then having someone connected to him buy them at far over the market value, to boost the value of the other art. If the auctioneers knew, they would bring the police in to investigate it as a fraud. Not to mention the fact that the painting were originally purchased from a family member at well over their true value. I would be amazed if the same was not already happening to the latest company taken over by this 'gang'.

Hear what you say, Dream Abroad, but where is the legal proof that this company is worthless, insolvent, liquidated or whatever ? Surely they must have to report to some regulatory authority, Given the dreadful history here, its better to be cynical about anything that's said, particularly on this BB thread. I wrote it off years ago, thankfully not a great loss in the scheme of things.

Ferret Your shares are worthless. After a share dilution and conversion into Chester, your holding was wiped out. Even those who elected to remain in the company have lost it all. What remained was frittered away on expenses. The only people who managed to get anything substantial back were those who stood up for themselves, took responsibility for their own recovery and fought back. They managed to get most of their money back. The people who stabbed their Samaritan in the back got next to nothing and were then betrayed by the very person who they thought was their saviour. Best chalk it up as one of those lessons in life. Don't always believe what people tell you. ALWAYS look a gift horse in the mouth!

Corrie, This company will never disappear. It is seared into the minds of so many as either a lesson or a defeat. Hopefully the former. Should be a movie one day. "Grand Theft Langbar" or some such title. YB

Can anyone tell me if I can still cash in on my Langbar shares, did not realise they had changed their name to Chester Group Ltd. I had 1700 shares in Langbar, any help and who to contact would be much appreciated. I now live in Chile and have been here for just over 3 years so have not really kept up to date on what has been going on. Thanks and regards Ronald

I've just realised, my broker has taken my 1 Chester (Langbar) share off the share custody list. Has the company disappeared altogether ,or is it just a finale to the grand theft ?

solarno lopez - please refer to my earlier post copied below. Langbar is now called Chester Group Ltd (registered in Bermuda) and it is the holding company for Templewood Partnership LLP (http://templewood.com/). So if you held 1 or more new share in Chester group (from memory a 5000-1 consolidation of Langbar shares = 1 share in Chester group) then you are by default a chester group ltd holder. I don't know what role Mahesh Desai performs at Templewood, but if you want the email address of the guy in Bermuda who maintains shareholder records for Chestergroup please message me on advfn __________________________________________________________________ FYI Chestergroup shares somehow are linked to a new merchant bank called Templewood - I contacted the company (templewood) and they confirmed me as a shareholder of '2' shares. I asked if the shares had any trading value they said no at present - presumably as the company is unlisted - perhaps one day it will list and our shares will have value. it's full of BIG dogs though...looks a bit like some cover for a BBC spooks program. http://templewood.com/ Here is the email I sent: ______________________________________________________________ To whom it may concern, I believe I am now a shareholder in Templewood Partnernship LLP, however, would like some clarity around the situation. I formerly held shares in Langbar Group plc and subsequently accepted an offer for shares in Chester group. The last I heard of this was communication from Bermuda regarding my holding and access to a basic investors website. I understand from communications received from Templewood that I am now somehow a shareholder in Templewood Partnership Limited or at least the holding company. Please could you confirn: a) The number of shares I now hold and in which entity b) Whether the shares I hold are entitled to dividend distribution c) Whether they is any movement between holders of stock, and if so, at what price per share levels these are transacted d) That my address is correctly recorded as: XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX If you require any further information, please let me know. Yours sincerely XXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX Private Investor Mob: XXXXXXXXX ______________________________________ The reply: Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXX, Thank you for your email. I can confirm that you are a shareholder in Chester Group Limited holding 2 shares. Templewood Partnership LLP is a member of Chester Group. You would be entitled to a dividend distribution with the other shareholders of Chester Group Limited if and when the company declares a dividend. The Shares are not traded. With kind regards Mahesh Desai
