Day's to do imo!!

Makes you wonder why the new investors bought in and what they thought was going to happen in the short/med term as any idiot could have told them about the gloomy period ahead!!

Will it make it to the peak period which has got to be their only aim at present????

another step closer.

investors have done their money here, management will downsize and run the best sites after it's gone under via the liquidators.

only option as I see it.

This is so a management buyout , they get to cherry pick the best sites at super cheap prices ! You have been warned

The sofa firm employs about 3000 in all. Retail analysts say furniture shops are always among the worst hit during economic downturns.

TBF..

I have had this out with him before but he will have none of it, something to do with care in the community I think!! ;)

I think Steinhoff are waiting in the wings to cherry pick the LAN sites for either Harveys or Bensons imo but it will be hard for them as they compete on many retail parks, we shall see.

Judge - I take it you are taking the p. It was a 1 / 10 reorg?

If the management can generate a ten-fold rise in the sp, they can do it again.

I am with Trojan. My wife works for DFS. They have announced redundancies and the recent promotions have fallen well short of targets. They are in the firing line along with a few quoted furniture retailers. It is only a matter of time before one of them goes to the wall.
I have shorted LAN in the past but closed between 10 / 20p old money as I thought they were about to be suspended. I also took out a small short following the re-org and have since closed that for a small profit. The easy money has been made. From here on it I see nothing but "a death from a 1000 cuts".
If they survive the course in 2/3 years time I suspect your initial equity stake would have been dliuted so much that it would be pretty much worthless.

bullet8..

Thank you for your informative post as it bought a smile to my face.

Not that I need to, but I will help you out and clear my position here up for you!!

I do not and never have owned any LAN shares and to go one step further I have never bought any retail shares at all!! This might seem strange coming from someone with a retail background but I know the industry reasonably well and had the sense to stay away from it on the investment front and decided I would invest elsewhere in other sectors that I would find more interesting.

I look in on retail threads now and again as a lurker mainly as it is hard to switch off completely and only post on the furniture threads due to a close family member who currently manages a Harveys furniture store but has also been involved with other big ticket retailers!!!

I hope this helps but I guess it is not what you wanted to hear.

Have a good day. ;)

clearly trojan has taken a dislike to lan,and probably has no connections
whatsoever with the furniture industry.sounds like fingers where burnt dealing.
