LoL must be high risk now

With financial doom and gloom every day in the media, it must put folk off buying expensive furniture

The massive overheads don't go away for their high st stores

Equity investment is by its nature risky. Those investing recently likely expected very high returns in return for very high risk. They may have been wrong, since like the rest of us they do not posess a crystal ball.

However, I'd personally qestion the judgement of those investing in a business which failed to the extent of having to raise more capital when they they had negligable debt in the first instance. What did they envisage would change?

Mr Trojan,
You seem very gloomy. Try harder to look for positives. Someone put a lot of money into the company during the recent placing. I can't believe they would have done that if LoL was a risky venture.

the bed/sofa sector is doing nothing.

unless they can survive on minimal sales for the next 12 months then this will end up down the receivers.

they can't turn their stock into cash!!! and cash is king.

What rise? LOL!!!

They had a 10 for 1 consolidation and the share price is now only 28.75p mid as I type which means they are even lower than before the consolidation!!! LOL!!

LOL!! DFS are not in the same league! LOL!!

I need an ambulance PDQ I think I am about to be the first man to die whilst LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A rise is a rise.
DFS clearly not in the same league. LoL will need all the staff they can get to handle Christmas demand.

Yep another 12 months methinks before see a slow pick up but then again if the banks get some confidence back and lower their bloody thieving mortgage rates it could happen sooner off course!

DFS announced some redundancies yesterday. Sector is really struggling. Recovery if at all a long time off.

All the doom sayers have gone quiet. Nothing like a 10x rise in the share price to keep 'em quiet.
Perfect weather for it.

Just a thought but if I was the management I would be thinking of taking this back private in the next eighteen months if the share price stays at these levels . Maybe secure enough funding till the city is bored then hey presto a management buyout at a bargain price ???????

that's what that move was about IMHO, it gave them a way of testing footfall and only paying rent on a sales basis.

master stroke as far as they're concerned.

I always thought it would be but when Bensons signed up for some of the vacant space in LAN I thought they might have a chance but it could be that Homestyle are thinking a head to some strategic sites they might want for Harveys etc!!

I have said on both threads that the market needs one of then to go under and that each one needs the other to go, to have even a half chance of surving until the next peak period!!!

I can easily see 5p by the end of the month, a 90% drop from the Placing price.

imo - The rescue of ScS must really be hurting LAN.

LOL!!!! 40p down to 27p already!!

Sorry to any holders, although to be honest I can't believe that any long termers are still holding this one after everything that has gone on. You would also need your head examined if you were thinking of punting this stock as it looks as if it is on only one road.....!

No position here as previously stated but have an interest in this sector on the family job front!
