10/9/2015 08:50 | kenv: first production this month compare: an asx stock (pls) mining the same metal (tantalum) saw its share price double since 26 August, so a hot market for this commodity... think cpx, think supercapacitors, think kenv (as a supplier of tantalum, used in said capacitors)... | andrbea
09/9/2015 15:49 | on global demand for titanum peer company pls: "It's a consistent market and the demand for capacitors in electronics doesn't abate," Mr Young said. "Everybody needs mobile phones, iPads, that sort of thing throughout the world and they get replaced quite readily. "So the demand is strong and we're looking forward to production." | andrbea
09/9/2015 15:25 | Offering 8.3 for 100000 shares!! They definitely need shares!! | cloud9surfer

09/9/2015 13:09 | another tantalum project has just got finance (another company of course) show's the appetite for the stuff, though.. Galaxy Resources: Work on the Definitive Feasibility Study for James Bay to also begin in 2016 Summary Galaxy Resources Ltd (ASX: GXY) ("Galaxy") ("the Company") is pleased to announce that it has executed the final definitive documentation with General Mining Corporation ("GMM") regarding the partnership to restart and operate the Mt Cattlin spodumene and tantalum mine in Ravensthorpe, WA. The Agreement will be implemented immediately following GMM's EGM, which is scheduled for Wednesday 9thSeptember 2015. | andrbea
09/9/2015 13:02 | this is a 'right place right time' stock IMO tantalum = the scarce feed material for supercapacitors and lithion-ion hybrid batteries compare peer company pilbara minerals (asx), also mining tantalum their share price was 10.5 cents (Aug 27) yesterday it had risen to 19 cents !! | andrbea
09/9/2015 10:48 | Tks for the link according to this new pdf (on page 12 of 20), first production is due this month tommygriff 7 Sep'15 - 22:30 - 525 of 525 0 0 | andrbea
07/9/2015 15:04 | another use for tantalum... The LTO technology is based on modified lithium-ion batteries and employs additional lithium-titanate nanocrystals on the surface of its anode and instead of the conventional carbon material that is used in normal lithium-ion batteries. 07/9/2015 13:45 | GrahamwalesCan you expand on that please.$170k per kg is for 100% Ta205, it's possible to get higher grades but the price on the market is always quoted for 100% quality. Im not sure what you are referring too. | oilbuy
07/9/2015 11:31 | Think you got that wrong, $170/kg is for the lower grade not the higher. | grahamwales
07/9/2015 08:39 | $170,000 per tonne is for 100% Ta20520/30% is a very good grade.So the price is $34k plus per tonne. | oilbuy
04/9/2015 14:21 | another important aspect about kenv's mine: Conflict Compliant Clarke highlights the significance of the tantalum mined at the TV project being classified as nonconflict tantalum. “The tantalum produced by Aftan would be conflict free and the company anticipates that a premium for tantalum from conflict areas could, therefore, be charged – hence, deincentivising the use of conflict tantalum.” Clarke explains that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopted a rule in August 2012 that required companies reporting to the SEC to publicly disclose the origins of the tantalum that they buy to restrict the use of conflict minerals. The mine is certified, which enables it to supply the tantalum mined at the TV project to companies that are required to comply with the SEC regulations. | andrbea
04/9/2015 13:56 | more on that other tantalum stock pls, as a guide: Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS) share price has soared 548% to $0.17. The miner is an emerging Tantalite producer, with a number of projects located in Western Australia’s Pilbara region – more well known for its iron ore deposits. Pilbara Minerals recently received approval to commence construction and commissioning of its Tabba Tabba project and is expected to ship first product in September 2015. The company has a 5-year offtake agreement with Global Advanced Metals for tantalite, which is turned into tantalum. Tantalum is a highly corrosion resistant metal, mostly used in capacitors in mobile phones and other electronic equipment but also in medical implants and bone repair. It’s a very rare product, fifteen times rarer than gold and currently fetches prices of around US$170 per kilogram, or US$170,000 per tonne. No wonder the shares have soared. | andrbea
04/9/2015 13:10 | from last RNS: The Tantalite Valley Project will be Aftan's first mine to come into operation. Mining from the high grade ores at the mine site in southern Namibia is on track to commence in Q3 2015, with first delivery of production from Aftan to its offtake partner, a leading manufacturer of electronic components on track, for the beginning of Q4 2015. Tantalum's usage is based on its unique properties and ability to perform under high temperatures while remaining chemically inert. As such it is virtually indispensable for a wide range of modern electronics applications such as computers, tablets, mobile phones, motor components and gaming systems. It has further application in alloys, medicine and specialised equipment production. | andrbea
04/9/2015 10:29 | tantalum is hot consider tantalum play pls (asx) its share price on Aug 26 was 10.5 cents today it is 17.5 cents !! | andrbea
03/9/2015 13:00 | kenv worth a look a tantalum miner (one of the few) Tantalum is a rare metal element used in the manufacturing of capacitors, which are found in virtually all types of consumer electronics. Based on current extraction rates, it has been estimated that there is less than 50 years of raw tantalum material remaining on the planet. | andrbea

20/8/2015 10:48 | usually next door to tantalum is lithium and/or niobium... eg follow messages about pls and their tantalum project: poster today on pls board: Im on my phone so haven't read the whole announcement thoroughly however they are some serious tantalum hits on top of the Li2O. Unsure what buyers want to see before they buy in but I am very confident that one good swipe at that .13 could start something. Psychology of the market is fascinating as how many times do you see an outstanding announcement and only once a share starts it's run do others think, gee it must be good others are buying I better get in before it gets away.... September is not to far away. Someone mentioned that there could be an attempt to cap the share price Anyone thinks this possible ? | andrbea
20/8/2015 08:37 | Tantalum seems 'hot' see sector article (dated today): producer plans to invest $320M into tantalum and niobium production Posted on and if you want a tantalum play on AIM, choose KENV | andrbea
18/8/2015 11:48 | reading this, tantalum sounds like a hot metal, just as hot as lithium so all pile into kenv (a miner of the stuff) please :-) According to the researchers, this design could store up to 162 gigabits (approximately 20GB) using crossbar array memories, and could use one hundredth of the energy required by devices currently in use. If these claims were to be realised consistently on a large, commercial scale, this would be a significant breakthrough in the field of memory storage. | andrbea |
