PecherSky project resumed at the begining of February 2011 with its completion expected in about 18 months.

Sky Towers schedule of works and costs have now agreed, four phases, first phase to be completed in May 2012.

It really is busy at KDDG. As they would say in Thunderbirds: all systems are go.

Reduction of the interest rate on Sky Towers' credit line

KDD Group (AIM: KDDG), the holding company of one of Ukraine's leading real estate investment and development groups, is pleased to announce that it yesterday agreed revised terms for its existing credit line (the "Facilities") with Ukreximbank.

The Facilities consist of both USD and Hryvnia denominated elements, totalling the equivalent of US$160 million. Under the new agreement, the interest rates chargeable on both the USD and Hryvnia denominated elements of the Facilities is to be reduced by 1 per cent., per annum and the Facilities have a repayment date of May 2012.

The Facilities, to date, have been used by KDD Group to finance construction work at the Group's Sky Towers office and hotel project ("Sky Towers"). The Sky Towers project is expected to be largely completed by Quarter 2, 2012.

Alexander Levin, KDD Group's Chairman, commented:

"I believe that the reduction of the interest rate on the Facilities reflects both improvement of the situation in the Ukrainian banking sector, as well as strong progress by KDD on the Sky Towers project. We are hopeful that the growing liquidity of Ukrainian banks, and the reduction in the cost of borrowing, will allow KDD to activate construction activity on several other projects in the short to medium term

In the first half of 2010 in Kiev, there have been no increase in hotel room stock category 3-5 stars because of the mass stopping construction projects in 2008 due to economic recession.

However, in early 2010, developers have continued active development of previously launched projects in the hospitality segment. Thus, in the final stage of construction is the hotel Fairmont (5 *, 257 rooms) on the street. Naberezhnye Khreshchatytska 1A. In the first half of 2010. international operators have continued to actively explore opportunities for cooperation with the developers of hotels in Kiev and in major regional cities of Ukraine. Significant for the market of hotel services in Ukraine was the signing Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to manage a hotel in Zaporozhye brand Four Points (4 star, 170 rooms; Blvd. Shevchenko, Zaporizhzhya).

As an additional incentive for developers to the Government of Ukraine adopted a law on the temporary exemption from income tax for all categories of 3-5 stars hotel, placed in service before September 1, 2012. This law was adopted in preparation for EURO 2012 and will be valid from 1 January 2011 to January 1, 2021.

Price level and occupancy

Average occupancy rates at hotels 4-5 stars in the first half of 2010 amounted to about 45-55%. In 2009 this figure was within 40-50%, whereas in 2007-2008. stayed at its high of 70-80%.

The increase in occupancy is due to increased business travel in the country. In the first quarter 2010, an entry flow of citizens from EU countries to Ukraine has increased by 20% (compared to the same period last year). In this case, the total number of foreigners who visited Ukraine in January-March 2010 declined by 5% to 3.5 million, primarily due to decrease in visitors from the CIS countries (according to the State Service for Tourism and Resorts).

Given that the capital market high-end hotels represented less than 2 500 rooms, even a slight increase in business activity can influence the occupancy rate.

The average asking price for a room in hotels of Kiev in 2010, virtually unchanged, and the same level as 2009. As in the past year, most of the hotels practiced various types of discounts of 10-20% of the room. However, in 2010 the tendency to phase out this practice, which became possible thanks to the growth in demand.

FORECASTS

• Stabilization and occupancy rates in hotels of the upper price segment at the current level.

• Phasing out an aggressive discount policy.

• The resumption of construction of accommodation facilities previously frozen.

• Moderate growth in demand for hotel services due to increased business activity in the country.

good question, i think they are able to do that. Current economical situation in Ukraine is very positive for KDDG, and company results, cheap prices, etc.
I will try to find some more info on a web and will post it here.

The Company's net asset value, as at 30 June 2010, increased by approximately EUR 40.4 million to EUR 256.9 million, compared to the value as at 31 December 2009. This increase contributed towards the Group's net profits of EUR 3.9 million, for the six months ended 30 June 2010, together with the positive impact of EUR 36.4 million from the translation from UAH to EUR as a presentation currency.

256.9m / fx rate 1.14 = £225.35m

NAV = £225.35 / 162.687763m shares = 138.51 pence

if xxic share price price is going up then kddg share price price is going up also.I have notice this watching kddg and xxic for last three months.Don`t know why? not always xxic share price must go up and kddg folow it but most times.
