Its quite clear that experts in covid my mid september where advising HMG to have a circuit breaker lockdown for the half term. That was ignored. So now a longer lockdown, more deaths, more economic costs.
how the markets open will depend on if they have this all factored in, or if there has been a general over optimism as displayed by the chattering classes/politicians that what matters is keeping the economy going, when what matters to keep the economy going is keeping covid in check.
We will see when the markets open on monday. I think you can see from my comments where I think markets will go.

Deme, that is very naive...A flight to cash will batter revenues and margins regardless of productivity.

John Cullen was part of the team that developed the software that tracks viruses.

The unelected world health bodies are failing to read the data correctly.

WHY ?

THEIR AGENDA IS BEING UNMASKED.

YOU ARE BEING KEPT IN THE DARK.

If the mines close then JLP will not be producing metals to sell. Hence the drop to 2p last time (albeit there was added virus panic at that point)

If the mines close the metal price will rise, as long as China doesn't lockdown. However, trading pots at the ready Monday!

They don't have to close the mines for the metals prices to drop off a cliff.

Even with another SA lockdown possible, I can't see them closing down the mining ops

Things like this will not help and are likely to put pressure on all shares, even the non uk related ones.
