If they manage to break even over the coming 12 months, I think it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Well, today's interims seem to support my previous suspicion:

Turnover in the six months to 31 December 2004 reduced to £12.4m, a fall of 9.4% over the comparable period last year. Profit before tax, amortisation of goodwill, share of loss of associated company and the provision against investments reduced to £272,000 (2003: £1,021,000). The profit before tax has reduced to £169,000 (2003: £676,000) resulting in earnings per share of 0.1p, compared with 1.2p per share reported for the six months to 31 December 2003.

Trading conditions in all our businesses deteriorated during the first six months and are not yet showing any sign of recovery.

My God, another poster - hello, alia.

Management buy-out? Maybe. But if that were the case, why proceed with a share buy-back scheme? Looks about the only reason the share price has any support whatsoever.

Just my opinions.

SHOCK HORROR!!! A post on the Jourdan thread...

... almost as shocking as the recent final results: F/Y EPS of 0.5p when they had reported 6m EPS of 1.2p at the interims! And the Chairman's Statement made fairly grim reading - hardly the company's fault, they're at the whim of their markets which sound simply dreadful. If they manage to break even over the coming 12 months, I think it will be nothing short of a miracle.

If the S/B company I use quoted them, I would be shorting them to the hilt...

Just my opinions.

33 million shares at issue, closely held. The major share holders looking locked in battle. Could suddenly take off.

Interesting now - Lord Ashcroft's Strand Associates increase to 21+% - they and Abell now have 50+%. Last heard of Strand earlier this year - involved in Concert Party for RTO of Rexonline.

Not sure what to make of it, but it is all occurring very quietly.

bought these cheap few days ago. buy ém and you´ll be creasing yourself in a few weeks. going back up to 20p short term. acquisition on the way, cash going in no dilution. Abell up to the limit without making bid for the lot.

absoluely incredible that people are going into this one on a newsletter tip without researching the fundamentals - because something is at an all time low does not mean it is cheap

The only people who will make money out of this company are the salaried people employed.

Short this company, won't be long before the full picture is revealed.

Sub 5p in a couple of months.

IMHO.

forget it - this duffer of a company has made some disastrous investments over the years - they recently lost millions when brooke industrial holdings went bust and this will be reflected in the annual accounts to be published shortly. Add to this fires and frightening gearing and you would either have to be brave or mad to invest in this one - you could lose the lot.
