lets face it, a guy(s) just bunged down a huge wad of dosh on JPR (not the CA buy), no questions asked. Bam! Lets hope he "really" knows something good!

You're right dazz. It's living with pain that does it. I should be more forgiving. Having said that, am looking forward to 40p now.

I'll be selling at 40p for a 150% profit. No need to overdo it. Of course if CA come in with an offer of 48p I'll take that too.

stdyeddy: dont wish to appear rude but the buffoonery is normally on the person who buys expensive (sorry)....
When do I sell my few pence worth that is the question...
I bought in to sell at about 40p. If it reaches that by next week (and I doubt it) I will think about selling, you are correct. If it just gets to high 20s I'm afraid I'll still be here.

When will you be selling? You have been here for about 20 years. There has to be a price that you will make you sell?

dazz, I reckon 20p might hold for a couple of days and if we then see RNSs for a directorate change at the same time as the share transfer, we might see a bounce higher. With any luck that should cause beefcurtains to sell his few pounds' worth and we'll be free of his buffoonery too!

dazz, exactly what I've been wondering about. River & Mercantile is the most obvious - puts CA just under 30% with one deal. If not them, then it would have to be at least two of the other major shareholders. What does Rich B say to them that makes them bale and sell to him after they've taken such a massive, almost 100% hit?

CA might wish to take it private and break it up. It is an option. I used to watch those old Doris Day movies when I was a young child where the male lead used to buy up companies and break them up and Doris always made them soften their approach to business in the end. CA might not be speaking to Doris and just go for it! Basically CA see JPR as Thorntons.

From Wikipedia:
In January 2011, Jonathon Hart joined the business as CEO.[citation needed] Following a resultant strategic review in June 2011, Thorntons announced it would close between 120 and 180 of its shops.[37][38]

Dazzaa: CA can do the whole hog if they want. They have the money to buy the whole thing... It must be one of their options they have on the table.

Interesting times!

If it keeps around 20p for a few days without retreating that will be a new milestone in my book.

I wonder who the seller was to enable CA to progress so valiantly, so a seat at the table of fables to deliver justice.
